I also generally dislike reality TV. But I do watch the cooking competition shows on Food Network like Chopped, I usually fast forward on my DVR through all of their "stories," since everyone on there how a sob story of some kind. I just care about the cooking and seeing them transform the ingredients.
I also like stuff on the Discovery Channel like Naked and Afraid and Mythbusters. Also, the competition shows on SyFy like Face Off and Jim Henson's Creature Shop. I give them the Chopped treatment as well. I just don't really care about their personal journey, I just want to see the work. I also LOVE Destination Truth. I have a giant crush on Josh Gates. I'm sad they canceled the show but he will have a new travel show in the Travel channel and I cannot wait for it!

The Food Network is an addiction of mine - I watch just about every show on it and most are "reality" shows. FH is big into fishing shows - so Deadliest Catch, Wicked Tuna...and Swamp People. I've watched the wedding shows - usually when bored on a weekend and there wasn't anything else on. Not really into the housewife shows - but there is one show with Iranians that I really enjoyed (can't remember the name right now)

It's on bravo, if that's the one you are talking about.

We don't have a TV in our bedroom. When it's time for bed, it's time for bed. YES! When we moved into the house I told DH we weren't putting a TV in the bedroom. It took a week or so for him to get used to it but he's full on board now. When I asked him recently if he wanted to put a TV back in there he said he didn't.

We were never allowed to have a tv in our room as kids, so I never wanted one as an adult. Really, I can't 'unwind' fully watching TV. If I go to bed and I"m not ready for sleep, I'll read a book. But that's pretty rare. I can't turn the whole way off while the TV is still on. If I go to nap on the couch, I have to turn the volume down to 1 or 2 to fall asleep. I don't know why I don't just turn it off. I think i figure if I have the TV on while I'm on the couch, I wont' sleep forever. I grew up like you. No TVs allowed in bedrooms. When I was a senior in HS I stole an old TV my parents weren't using anymore and put it in there. It lasted about a week before I put it back where I found it. I HATED it. DH always had a TV in his room growing up so he had a really hard time giving it up but now he realizes he gets much more restful sleep without it on.

I thougth they cancelled it when it came out that Robert had falsified his resume. Or did that all blow over or turn out to be false? They cancelled Dinner impossible because of the resume thing but have Restaurant impossible.. He teaches them to make new stuff on the menu but not a full cooking show.

I really liked Dinner Impossible. The problems were obviously fake most of the time but it was still fun to watch.

I watch the Bachelor and Bachelorette. I also watch Dancing with the Stars.
I'll watch other shows if they happen to be on, but I don't watch a ton of TV.
We have a TV in our bedroom, but it's rarely on. It's there for when we both want to watch something different live, for H to watch baseball on, and in case on of us is sick and stays in bed all day. Or if I'm home alone (I watch TV until I fall asleep because I hate being alone at night).

They cancelled Dinner impossible because of the resume thing but have Restaurant impossible.. He teaches them to make new stuff on the menu but not a full cooking show. That's not quite accurate. They initially fired Robert and replaced him with Michael Symon for a season. This was not a popular move, so they brought Robert back despite the resume kerfuffle. When Dinner Impossible ended, he started Restaurant Impossible. My H has recently decided that he would someday like to open a little coffee shop in Oregon. I've watched a lot of Restaurant Impossible. This idea scares the crap out of me.DH and I have long wanted to open a restaurant but we watch a lot of Kitchen Nightmares so I've convinced myself we'd fail epically if we ever tired.

We have a tv in our bedroom but it's mostly going to be for Netflix and my video game playing if BF is playing downstairs. It hasn't been hooked up yet for that purpose though.

I watch Project Runway and The Amazing Race when they are on. I've started watching Bar Rescue, and The Challenge on MTV. I like the cooking competition shows, but don't watch them regularly. If I'm bored, I'll watch wedding shows, usually only when my H isn't home. From April-October the main thing we watch is baseball.

I used to love watching the trainwreck show about the Gosselins. I can't imagine how effed up those kids are. Other than that, I love any reality show on HGTV.HGTV is honestly the number one thing I miss about having cable. We have Hulu Plus and HGTV has nothing on there. I thought I would miss sports, but I don't really. I miss The Property Brothers and Rehab Addict.

As an adult do what you want but don't drag your kids into this shit. You know what show I hate the absolute most? Toddlers and Tiaras. I watched it once and I wanted to punch out every parent that puts their child in clothing like that and has them perform on stage (because I don't actually believe the kids are driving that show at all. It's all about parents trying to live vicariously through their children and using their children as money makers.) Way to fuck up your children for life just to make a buck assholes.

This is so close to a confessions thread.
I watch Sister Wives, I spend the entire time trying to figure out 1) the very weird dynamic and 2) the financial situation. I also watch Survivor, season finale TONIGHT. Anything Gordon Ramsey, (love Master Chef), Biggest Loser, Housewives of Atlanta, (they make me feel so normal, like you people), and I go to sleep either with Judge Judy or Peoples Court. I'm so excited, I realy want the cop to win, he is realy good at controlling the game! I also wouldn't mind if Spencer wins. I hate Kass, and Tasha hasn't realy done anything the whole game, so that would bother me if she won.

I am surprised that I am the only one on here that has watched King of the Nerds.
I never had a tv in the bedroom either. I prefer to read a book in bed to help me unwind then to watch tv.
My step aunt is Mary and cries a lot, too.

This was the first season we watched and we loved it! I hate Sausage's facial hair so much. I made a comment every episode haha. Who is your favorite? I'm trying so hard now to spoil the ending for you If you can find Season 1, is so good. The talent in that group was phenomenal! I think I like Halo the best. Mattie is fine, too. Sausage is so whiny. I think the last four are all super talented, and I am pretty sure they've been setting up Scott to win all season, but he is so darn unlikable! I was off yesterday and I watched a few episodes and really enjoyed it. I cringe every time they say "Sausage". I think my favorite is Halo too - he just seems like a nice guy who knows what he's doing. I didn't watch the finale though but I think I recorded it.

How old is the youngest one? Also I really don't understand how you get into that situation. The youngest Sister Wife? She's 35-ish. The youngest child in the family is around 3. How old is the oldest? How old is ugly Cody?
