1. How far along are you? 34 weeks 5 days
2. Symptoms/vents/AWs? I'm not sleeping well because everything just hurts so darn bad. I'm also sick of the constant need to pee. Get off my bladder BB2!! I have an appointment with my OB on Wednesday and I'm planning to talk to her about a few things that are concerning me. I don't really want to get into it here yet; I need to talk to my doctor first. I'm starting to get a gut feeling that I don't have as much time to prepare for this baby as I originally thought.
3. What are you most looking forward to doing when you're finished being pregnant? Eating whatever I want. I'm so tired of feeling sick whenever I eat, and only being able to eat certain things. I also look forward to drinking something other than iced tea.
Random:
Are you a cable watcher or a binge streaming watcher? What's on your radar these days for shows? Cable watcher here. We've talked about cancelling the cable to save money, but I'm home all day. Please don't take my tv away. Also, it may seem silly, but I really enjoy being able to watch my shows when they are actually airing, or very shortly after. I don't want to wait until something comes out on Netflix. Everything I watch is wrapping up for the season. I like So You Think You Can Dance, which should be coming back soon for the summer.

1. How far along are you? 35w3d
2. Symptoms/vents/AWs? My belly is feeling suuuuper heavy! My energy is definitely wavering. Yesterday I needed an afternoon nap even though we didn't do anything real strenuous at all in the morning. I'm still sleeping really well through the night too so it seems crazy to me that I can still be tired after a full night of uninterrupted sleep!
3. What are you most looking forward to doing when you're finished being pregnant? I can't wait to start getting my body back. I'm sick of not being able to bend over comfortable or shaving my lady parts. Overall I just feel really fat and like there's nothing I can do about it. Really hoping that my body bounces back! Also, I can't wait to go out to a restaurant and order a glass of wine without feeling guilty or judged.
Random:
Are you a cable watcher or a binge streaming watcher? What's on your radar these days for shows? H and I got rid of our a cable a few weeks ago. I can still watch all of my usual shows on hulu though. And we do still have a handful of channels so there are a few shows plus the news that we watch on there. But we started watching Mad Men a couple of weeks ago and are really liking it. We're in the middle of Season 2 already!

1. How far along are you? 14w 1d
2. Symptoms/vents/AWs? Still some intermittent nausea but I can't complain. In reality I think I just need to really pay attention to what I'm eating. I'm still exhausted but handling that okay (i.e. napping). And I'm not sleeping well. See #3. This is the first full week that I'm not scheduled to have an appointment - I'm scheduled for a quick look and listen next Thursday so please pray for my sanity over the next 11 days or so.
3. What are you most looking forward to doing when you're finished being pregnant? SLEEPING ON MY BACK AND STOMACH AGAIN. I am already so, SO sick of laying/sleeping on my side. Like, the sides of my legs hurt. I get nauseous when I lay on my back though and sleeping on my stomach is already out - I get crampy after a minute or so if I try and that can't be good so I just avoid. WAHHH
Random:
Are you a cable watcher or a binge streaming watcher? What's on your radar these days for shows? We don't have cable. On streaming we usually watch HGTV shows but are also into The Cosby Show and I'm into Reba. I also watch Dancing with the Stars. This should probably be an FFFC.

ktmac - You have no idea how excited I am that you are at 14 weeks. I know you still have some issues to deal with, but just being in the second trimester is so so so awesome. Tears-in-my-eyes awesome. Thanks everybody for the love. I'm really hoping that I'm just overly anxious and being a worry-wart. I'm planning to ask the doctor to do some blood work to check a few things, because I'm feeling off and I'm afraid my HELLP syndrome is returning. It doesn't help that my mom (who NEVER justifies my fears) said that she has a gut feeling that something is off too. I just really want to make it to 37 weeks if I can. I'm hoping it's just paranoia because 35 weeks is where things went to hell when I was pregnant with DD and I'll be 35 weeks Wednesday.

This is a totally normal feeling. I had it at 11w this time, and at 25w with DD, because I was 25w with DS when I had my abruption. This is your Twilight Zone, and you are well within your rights to feel worried about this. Have you had any concerning symptoms that make you think your HELLP is returning?
Even if your gut is right and there's something looming, making it to 35w is awesome! Getting this baby out and keeping both of you healthy is top priority. I'll be thinking of you this week, and hoping that you and the baby are safe and healthy! My platelets have been steadily dropping thoughout my pregnancy. I didn't realize just how much until I looked back on my previous results. They started in the high 200s and in March they were down to 130. If they go below 100 my hopes of a VBAC go out the window and I'll have to undergo general anesthesia for a C-section, meaning I'll be asleep for the birth. NOT OK. Also, I was noticing some tenderness in my upper right quadrant the last couple days, and my nausea has gotten a bit worse. It could all be psychosomatic (hopefully), but I'm going to have my doctor do some blood work just to check. With DD my blood pressure went out of whack at 35 weeks, and the HELLP hit at 37. My platelets hit 99 and I BARELY got my epidural, allowing me to be awake during my C-section, but I needed a blood transfusion by the time it was all said and done. Anyway, I could be perfectly fine, so hopefully the blood work will be reassuring. But my gut is telling me that I only have a couple weeks at the most before BB2 arrives.

nsweare can you tolerate spinach?? I heard that the vitamin K in it is supposed to help with platelet counts... maybe spinach muffins or spinach balls if you can't do plain greens?? Couldn't hurt, anyway. I can actually eat fresh spinach. Salads have been staying down ok. I've been eating quite a bit of spinach actually. But only the fresh stuff. Why is my body so weird?!?

So I emailed both my parents yesterday, saying that since MIL had volunteered to do a few days a week childcare for us instead of day care, we wanted to open that up to each of them if they wanted some one-on-one regularly scheduled babytime too. My mom replied today, pooping herself with excitement and THANKING ME for asking her. So it looks like between grandparents and work-from-home days, we should be able to be covered with all family for at least the first few months! We still want to look into Montessoris for part time eventually, but it'll be so nice to save the money and stress of a day care center while she's still relatively brand new and teeny. YAY! That's fantastic! The money savings alone would be enough to make me do a happy dance.

I hope you can get your mother to understand that having her live with you three days a week is NOT helping. NOT HELPING AT ALL! Yeah sure Mom, year-old marriage, brand new baby, settling into a new routine, the thing we really want MOST is dear ol' Mom underfoot half the damn week. THIS IS NOT WHAT I MEANT, MOM! Come Sunday evening. Leave Monday evening. ONE of those days you can have dinner with us. OMG I'm doomed. Nobody ever try this, this was a terrible plan! Your nice compared to me. I wouldn't even want my mom to stay that often

I'm 8 weeks, 1 day today! And tomorrow I go for another ultrasound and a bunch of bloodwork, etc. I think they'll do one of those "advanced maternal age" tests which means that I will know the gender soon. So exciting.
And H has been so cute...he keeps telling all his friends about the pregnancy and is so excited.
I've started having a bit of nausea which sucks...but it isn't to the point of actually throwing up, so I'm still happy. I've found that if I eat pretty constantly, it keeps the nausea at bay...so I've been doing a lot of small meals or partial small meals.
Oh...and MIL had volunteered to be our child care until the little one talks. Which is awesome - she's been doing that for our nephew and I guess I feared that with our past issues it wouldn't be something we'd ever have the luxury of...but now that we are all getting along great and have healed the past rifts, it is so nice to know we won't have to worry about daycare for an infant.
Now we just have to move, sell a house, buy a house and move again! Crazy.

I don't have to "move" anything and H has a ton of friends

@drexelkathy - Sea Bands helped me with that queasy-but-I'm-not-at-the-point-of-vomiting-yet feeling. They're what got me through the musical, actually. I have heard this and am going to grab some! Thanks for reminding me and letting me know they work'

So I'm on day 2 of maternity leave and man it's hard not to be lazy. I cleaned the kitchen thoroughly yesterday and plan to do the main bath and laundry today. I think I'm going to have to make a daily schedule for myself so I don't start laying in bed all day everyday. I hope this baby doesn't come late!

I'm jealous of you people starting maternity leave while still pregnant. I might actually have to give birth in the office. QFT. My company has zero maternity leave. If it was up to them they would have a person go into labor at work and come back to work right after delivery occurred.

Hey all,
So the week of May 18 is just about over, and I assume there'll be a new thread tomorrow, but I thought I'd jump in/introduce myself on this one because work-wise I really can't (shouldn't) spend much time doing anything else this week. I'm one of the TK crossover newbies - @lolo and I have been chatting/PMing over there about our respective pregnancies, and she suggested I come over here and jump in on the conversation with you fine ladies.
So for me:
1. 24w 6d
2. I'm in the full on second trimester awesomeness. There's been a bit of trouble sleeping, but that's about it. I asked DH whether he thought things were genuinely being super easy for me pregnancy-wise, or if I just have a high tolerance for stuff that people complain about and don't really notice it much, and he thought it was probably mainly the former (being relatively young) and a bit of the latter. I'm still fully prepared for shit to hit the fan in the third trimester, though.
Baby girl is very active. I felt her around 14 weeks, and DH managed to feel her Easter weekend. I've been drinking a fair amount of grapefruit juice, and that has yet to fail to get her kicking - hard.
Random scary thing - shortly before I woke up this morning, I had a dream that I miscarried. Didn't realize that's what it was at first - in the dream, I was like, "oh, my period's back, and of course it's super different and heavy all at once and weird... shit, no NO I'm supposed to be pregnant I can't have a period!" Luckily I woke up shortly thereafter and baby was kicking me, so we're all good.
3. DH knows that he (or someone to whom he delegates) needs to be bringing me a margarita in the hospital.
Random: More a binge watcher, especially since we don't have cable (I never had it growing up and DH doesn't need it either). I watch pretty much all the shows @jennylee mentioned (is Call the Midwife where your display name came from?) but in the meantime with seasons over/not yet up, I'm not watching much of anything. DH has been watching through M*A*S*H and I'm enjoying that.

I have like 150 things across 2 baby registries. Am I done? Anybody wanna look them over and see if I forgot anything totally duh-worthy? I think I hit all the major categories and lots of price points. I didn't really do toys and clothes, besides a few jammies and a fleece snowsuit. I know those will get purchased anyway. Added things with major recos from friends including the My Brest Friend pillow, Rock n Play, a swing that plugs in or uses batteries, Tommee Tippee bottles... and took a gamble on Thirsties diapers because they seem the most cost effective. This is me. OMG registering when I was pregnant with DD was like being in the seventh circle of hell. H and I went to Babies R Us and Target. He was absolutely no help, because he really didn't care, and I was sooooo overwhelmed. I stood in the aisle at Babies R US, staring at this giant wall of stuff and just started crying. We made it through, but I dragged my mom back the next day to "fix it."
I would be happy to look at your registries if you want to see if there is anything major you are missing. Plus, I love to look at the things other people pick out. It's like shopping without spending any money.
