1. 18w2d
2. Very emotional. Over the weekend on geek and sundrys twitch page they had a fundraiser for extra life (do not look up. Can cause triggers) and the commercials were making myself and H cry. H had to walk out room. luckily we are a paid subscriber to that channel so we can watch things whenever after the live broodcast. I just want my fucking bump. I think its taking forever due to my surgery or cause its my first baby and I am over weight.
3. I plan on it just being H, myself, nurses, doctors (unless they are off I have a feeling I will see a few that were there for my surgery, some stop by to check on my at my appointments), and other medical staff. My mom won't like that but oh well. Dh will eventually call her while I am in labor like at 8 cm since it would take her at least 2 hours to get here even longer if its rush hour.

@lolo - I am not sure if this will make you feel better and sorry if it doesn't. I was about 16 days late and my mom was pissed at her younger sister since she had my cousin early and it was on November 6 and I didn't arrive until the 16th.
@sarahufl - I have a few maternity tshirts and I have no clue how they would fit at 8 months. They are so tight in the arms. I say you are not too early to syatt getting in maternity clothes. I am still just wearing side panel pants but when I switched these ones felt so much better compared to my regular pants. Can you at least return the dresses that you bought for the wedding?
I wish I had stores near me that actually sold bras that fit me. Most stores around me do not sell above a DD! I was a 36dd before being pregnant. H and I might be going to babies r us this weekend so maybe I get him to go bra shopping.

1. How far along are you? 34+1!
2. How are you feeling? Tired, large and generally uncomfortable but nothing out of the ordinary, thank God. He turned head down at some point over the past couple of weeks (I admit I didn't specifically feel it happening). I thought I'd be more comfortable if he was head down instead of transverse - boy was I wrong. Breathing is hard. Oh and weekly appointments start next week! We are at the point now where I feel like I could have him and he'd be ok with minimal time in the NICU. Wheeee!
3. Who do you plan to have in the delivery room with you? As few people as possible. Just my H for sure. Nobody has asked or indicated that they have any inkling of wanting to be anywhere near that room and for that I am grateful. I have no problem telling any parents or in laws to bugger off of its even implied. This may be a UO but I don't understand wanting a bunch of people there.

1. 27 weeks, 6 days
2. I'm starting to get swollen and it has me a bit worried. I wake up in the morning and I have tingling hands and my rings are too tight...so I'm going to mention this on Wednesday at the doctor. Considering I'm already on medication for pregnancy induced high blood pressure, I hope this isn't anything wrong.
This morning I'm doing my 1 hour glucose test (just drank the bottle of orange drink - it tasted like a combination of Tang and flat soda) so I hope I pass that!
3. As for delivery room - plan on it just being H and I and the medical people as long as he gets there. I had debated a doula but decided not to bother. I'm just hoping H is there.

My mom wants to go to my doctors appointments or at least ones H can't go to. I don't know if she came up with this idea or one of my aunts. I really do not want anyone but H and TH (less uncalled for judgement) to know my blood results when they are not great (she'd blame my low iron on me being a vegetarian, not the pregnancy) and she lives 2 hours away. Imo it would be a waste of a vacation day since my appointments are 10-20 minutes and since my office does not do ultrasounds, I only get to hear the babies heartbeat. I know its nice but I don't need that added stress.

I haven't told her about any appointments until after they happen but she always says she can come to any H can't come to.

She's probably just excited and doesn't realize (or forgets) how mundane regular appointments are.
At least here it is weigh in, give a urine sample, quick visit where they use a Doppler/check uterus size and then chat for 5 minutes and you are out the door for most visits.

@kathy that stuff all sounds standard. My hands are very stiff in the mornings. Carpal tunnel can be a fun side effect of pregnancy. I don't have that but just the morning stiffness and numbness. and I don't think I've worn my wedding rings since .... 19-20 weeks? They don't usually worry unless it's sudden or on one side of your body.
I'd still mention it to your doc but shouldn't be something to be overly concerned about

My OB is really laid back about everything. My RE - who is still following me - is more on top of details. I don't really even like the OB...I am SO grateful for my RE. For example, my OB didn't blink at a weight gain of 12 lbs in one month. My RE did. And my RE is the one that put me on the blood pressure medications, he referred me to a perinatologist and he's more concerned with any signs of potential preeclampsia because I have several risk factors. (Age, thyroid, blood pressure and family history) My OB has seen me *maybe* for a combined hour this entire pregnancy so far? My RE spent almost 2 hours with me in just one appointment 3 weeks ago because he was so concerned with my blood pressure (resting of like 170/110 and 160/100 tested 2 hours apart...when I've had high blood pressures at the OBs office, he's written it off as "white coat" and moved along. I just trust my RE more and am SO grateful he has continued to follow me...even after I've "graduated". I'm hopeful the swelling/tingling is just normal pregnancy swelling, etc...but I will mention it to both doctors and they're the experts from there. So far I've shown no protein in the urine tests which is awesome and I hope continues to stay that way!

6 weeks, 2 days along
Not feeling exactly pukey, but have my blah points of the day. Ice water seems to be helping with that feeling, as are toast chee crackers with peanut butter. Talked to my mom this weekend, she didn't have morning sickness till 9 weeks, and then she was bent over the porcelain throne all. morning. long and survived on crackers and ginger ale for a month.
TMI WARNING:
Despite my high water intake (doc said 2 liters a day, I'm managing slightly more with 68-70 oz), my pee is still bright yellow, and I'm constipated. I think the constipation is due less to the water intake and more due to the lack of caffeine- it used to jump start my colon in the morning, and I've gone cold turkey since learning I was pregnant. I'm still going, but not the way I used to, and was miserable with pukey feelings this morning until I had a more normal bathroom session.
END OF TMI
DH will be there with me, and considering having my mom there. Haven't decided yet.
I teased Mom this weekend that her baby (me) was having a baby, and she later took that as my baby will be HER baby. I had to gently shut that shit down- it's my baby, your GRANDbaby. You are not the parent on this one. Not that I think she'd interfere, but I think if we got to the point where we met with DH's dad and stepmom again, SMIL might try the whole "My Baby" shit, and I don't want her to think she can claim I'm playing favorites or take shots at my mom with this.

chipmunk Colace will be your friend. Constipation is a common pregnancy problem because of the hormones. Also consider adding benefiber or Metamucil to your water/whatever you drink. There is nothing worse than constipation. And this is coming from someone who had hyperemesis. Constipation sucks big balls.

I don't know anything to help with the MS and I don't like coffee but yes add some fiber to your diet. Constipation is an issue with pregnancy.

chipmunk - don't give up the morning cup of coffee...the constipation is worse than 1 cup of coffee and will make you miserable.

Here's the thing...I don't drink coffee. I'm weird like that. But I was taking energy shots, which I've cut out. I was also drinking the occasional soda, which I've now cut as well.
Feeling better this morning, sipping cold Gatorade helps settle my stomach.

You'd have to rip the coffee from my cold, dead hands I'm drinking a cup right now, actually. I've always been a 1-2 cups per day moderate consumer of coffee. That's my only source of caffeine. I'm a physician and scientist and I've read all the studies on caffeine carefully (long before I was even planning a family... just because I'm a coffee-loving geek and I was curious). There is absolutely no substantial evidence that moderate quantities are harmful in pregnancy. Oh by the way, I suppose I should formally introduce myself here. I might even have the courage to play along. I'm still scared stiff but feeling a little more confident each day. I'm 38 years old and just barely graduated from the TTC board with my first pregnancy. 1. 5w0d today 2. I feel totally normal still, except maybe some slightly sore breasts. My face is breaking out and one of my patients (a 7 year-old girl) was kind enough to point this out to me in my clinic yesterday evening. Kids are too honest. But I have terrible skin in the first place, so this isn't really that out of the ordinary. In fact, it's probably just because I stopped using my salicylic acid-containing face wash. 3. Not thinking that far ahead yet!

chipmunk - I still drink a can of real sugar pepsi once in awhile. If I can't drink wine or beer I need something to enjoy. I did cut out the pepsi when I could not get down any water. I keep forgetting to tell you the pills when I am home for what I am taking for my constipation. Being clogged up is no joke. TMI after my surgery I clugged the toilet so bad H thought we would have to call the plumbers. Luckily it fixed itself. Even our 6 foot snake could not unclog it. I had sushi last night and Saturday. I know its vegetarian but damn it the egg one and the sweet potato one is what I was craving.

Is it too early for me to feel the baby kick? I feel I felt a kick or punch on the lower right side yesterday when I was driving home from work. Or was the feeling just a weird pain I never felt before?
