Day 5. I went in for blood work and an ultrasound this morning. They'll call me probably this afternoon with results and how to modify my meds. My head still hurts, which sucks.
The woman who did the ultrasound said that the follicles were growing, but we'll see what they say later today.

Yay! Excuse my ignorance, but what's the process from here? If you don't feel like explaining, LMC , I will not be offended! To the best of my understanding, they see how I'm progressing and then call me with any changes they'd like me to make in my dosages. Eventually, I'll be told to start the "holding medication" which prevents me from ovulating. I may have to go in every day from now on. Once they see my follicles at the size they want, and my blood work comes back at the levels they want, I'll do my "trigger shot." That will tell my body to ovulate. I'll have the next day off, won't have to do any shots at all, and then the day after, I go in for my retrieval.
If everyone grows well and there's more than 4 embryos at day 3, they'll keep growing them to day 5. If there's less than 4, I'll go in for the transfer at Day 3.
I think that's all of it.
Oh yeah, then if I get pregnant, I have to shoot myself in the ass with progesterone for 12 weeks. FUN.

Damn, that's both overwhelming and exciting at the same time! You are a trooper. Grow, little follicles!! How many embryos do they transfer? All 3 (or less)? Oh gosh no. haha Being under 35 and this being my first time, they'll only do 1. They usually only do 2 if you're over 35 and have had a failed IVF cycle before. That's how my friend had TRIPLETS
It actually could be bad if I got pregnant with twins due to the shape and size of my uterus, so they're hoping to avoid that.

Triplets??? Nope. I will uncross my fingers for your having the first TH multiples, but I will send you lots of baby vibes until you have all the McBabies your heart desires! <3 When I was getting blood taken this morning, I said that I was trying my best but still hadn't gotten used to the arm jabbing. The woman said something like "Well, it's only short term with us. You go through this process, and then we want to be successful, but we break up. But it's a good break up! And you can come back and show us the prize at the end." And I told her we'd be back all of the time because we planned to have the best cycle ever, freeze a ton of embryos, and then keep coming back until we had 800 children. That got a chuckle out of them (and the other girl sitting there who is clearly cycling, too. You can tell who's cycling because they go back once, come back to the waiting room, then go back again. haha).

Stolen from Trouble TTC plus some extra just for youuuu lovelies:
I just got my first monitoring numbers! They told me to start the Ganirelix immediately - good thing I was carrying one around in my purse! I did it in my office, so that was weird. It really stings.
I'm on day 5. So I've done 4 days of injectables. Here are my numbers: Estrogen: 934 LH: 7.7 Uterine... something: 6
Right side: 1 Follicle @ 14 3 @ 10 11 at less than 10 Left Side: 1 @ 14 1 @ 11 2 @ 10 11 @ less than 10
I KNEW that the tech lingered on my left ovary this morning. Apparently, the doctor wrote down today "Left ovary posterior to uterus." He wants to be in my ultrasound on Friday. I can't imagine it's terrible, because otherwise I'd guess he'd want me in there for an ultrasound again tomorrow, right? RIGHT? But all I have to do is blood work tomorrow again.
I don't know what any of these numbers mean. They look for follicles to be 18-22 in size and she said, as a rule of thumb, they grow about 2 every day. so I'm really hoping we trigger Friday or Saturday.

I had some serious and inexplicable anxiety in the waiting room of the doctor's office today. Blood work hurt. Then I had to do my one shot in the car in the parking garage, so that was fun.
Also inexplicable is the fact that the shots seem to be hurting MORE over time, not less. You'd think it would get easier.
I'm just really tired. And tired of being a human pincushion. I can't wait for this week to be over.

It's all in my belly, but I switch spots every day. I don't know if the hormones are making me more sensitive or what.

Estrogen up 50% from yesterday. They still don't need an ultrasound tomorrow, so with my numbers and my one from yesterday, it must have looked pretty good! Doc lowered my dosages again, and I go back in for blood work tomorrow. At 715, thankfully. 645 was tooooo early.

It means your follicles are growing as they want to see them growing and you are probably getting close to the trigger shot and retrieval!

Woooof I've had blood work every day this damn week. Yesterday, my estrogen had almost doubled from the day before despite the reduction in meds. So they reduced them more and had me come back in today. Also did another ultrasound because the doctor wanted to come by. Left ovary still hiding behind my ute a little bit, but he seemed to think there was a small window to get to it. The tech also told me that sometimes they can push on your tummy and manipulate it a bit. Worst case scenario, they won't be able to get to all of the follicles on that side. She couldn't comment on the size though, so I won't know until I get my daily call this afternoon. Hoping I'm close to trigger!
