1.) How far along are you?
2.) Symptoms/Complaints/AW moments/etc?
3.) What is/was the most ridiculous/frivolous thing you or someone else considered buying or has bought for baby? (Alternatively, aside from diapers, wipes, and onesies, what is/what do you think will be the most useful item for baby?)

1.) 33 weeks, 2 days
2.) Baby's just moving around a lot, though I think her back is on the right- most of the pushing/smacks are all on the left side. She did roll over this weekend and started whacking me in the lower right side for a bit, but didn't take long before she switched back to get me in the stomach and lower colon (makes going for walks pretty interesting at times).
Caught the tabby cat in the pack n play's changer AND inspecting the bouncer yesterday. Only had to say her name, and she hopped out (more like a flailing leap)before coming over to me, meowing apologies and headbutting my hand and belly in her efforts to get back on my good side. Better she inspects now than when the baby is in there, right?
3.) On the grossly ridiculous front- I actually registered for one of those NoseFrida snotsucker nasal aspirators. No one has bought it yet though, think people are grossed out by it
As to useful item(s), DH bought a wipe warmer, which will hopefully help keep her comfortable during changes as opposed to COLD wipes going on the business. Also bought some machine washable changing pad liners, in case there's an explosion during changing times.

No wipe warmers here either. Ditto what everyone else said for the reasonings to not get one due to daycare and not always changing baby at home.
Plus we change T both in her nursery and in the living room. I am tired most days and lazy and dont feel like going to go up or downstairs just for a warm wipe. Specially since sometimes she needs changed more than one time in an hour. Hell there are always clean bottles prefilled with water and formula cans on the 1st and 2nd floor.

1.) 10 weeks. (well measured 9 weeks 5 days at my appointment today, so a few days behind than what we thought)
2.) Symptoms/Complaints/AW moments/etc? Gagging a lot lately and been sick a few times this week, so MS is creeping up on me. This morning was bad but I finally was able to keep a 1/2 english muffin down and I am attempting some applesauce right now. I lost 2 lbs since my last appointment 2 weeks ago, but doc was not concerned. I had an appointment a little while ago and was able to see the heartbeat. It was hard to hear on the doppler, but she showed me on the screen and was happy with the way things are progressing, so I am too. I gave in and bought my first baby item--a onesie that says small fry (but fry is spelled "frye" since that is our last name). It came on Friday and is supper cute. We will probably use it for our announcement next month.
3.) What is/was the most ridiculous/frivolous thing you or someone else considered buying or has bought for baby? (Alternatively, aside from diapers, wipes, and onesies, what is/what do you think will be the most useful item for baby?)
as for me I am clueless so really don't know what is ridiculous and what is not right now, lol. I don't recall seeing anything on registries for showers I've been to that I have side-eyed. I know some car seats and strollers can seem extremely expensive, but may not be necessarily ridiculous. I am all about getting a good deal but know there will be things we will splurge on.
most useful? no idea yet! I know H will be into looking at baby monitors.

chipmunk Aww I miss the baby movement in my belly, it's such a special feeling! The nose freida is awesome and it's really not gross at all. No wipe warmer here either, we use cloth wipes with room temp water kept in a spray or peri bottle. We do use the changing pad liners though, definitely helpful because she pees on the table sometimes and it's not easy to contain a mess with a wiggly baby! mrsELF6713 Hope the MS passes quickly, it is NOT fun!

1.) How far along are you? 32 weeks tomorrow
2.) Symptoms/Complaints/AW moments/etc? I'm having a tough week emotionally. I still feel fine physically. Have an OB appointment on Wednesday.
3.) Really, we have not bought much or received many gifts at all. So far all we have is some clothes, a ring sling that my SIL gave me, and a high chair and pacifier from some friends. Quite frankly I don't think we'll receive many gifts. No one has asked me if I have a registry and it doesn't look like I'm having a shower, so I'll probably just use the registry for its completion discount. I do have a Nose freida on there but I've never even heard of a wipe warmer. Otherwise I think my main obsession may end up being carriers - I want one of each, please!

gingerlady - h and I received a lot of gifts after T got it. Nothing was from the registry but for the most part everything was nice and useful. We got gift cards from relatives to H's mom's hair dresser. So you never know you may get a gifts after the LO is born.

No wioe warmer here, but the nose frida is the best. C hates it, but it works so well. @gingerbaby I have a Lilliebaby and LOVE it. You can use it from newborn to 50 pounds (not quite sure about the max weight) and it can go in six positions. We have the all seasons so the front flap rolls down so it isn't too warm. C loves sitting in it. We are now going to try wearing him on our backs because he's getting too heavy. He loves looking out so I'm not sure how much he's going to like that. I'm totally intrigued by the Lillebaby! I want to try one out in person before buying though, because when I looked at the videos online it looked kind of complicated. Did you find it easy to learn how to use? I have a couple ring slings for the newborn period, and want a K'tan as well. I'm intrigued by the Boba 4G because it looks so simple and can also be used for a newborn without an insert. Thinking of a Tula for later (I carried my goddaughter in one and liked it a lot), and of course a big hiking carrier (probably an Osprey or Deuter).

I have a $30 baby wearer. Mine is a 4 in 1. 8 to 32 lbs. I highly suggest buying one that you like/feel comfortable with.

I'm making my own moby wraps with some knit fabric I got on sale. My mom is taking DH shopping for a carrier for him though, for days when I'm at work and he has the baby one on one. My satellite office just threw me a surprise shower- photos are to come, including my bright red face when I first walked into this

I can't recommend it enough. Neither of us watched videos. We just out the belt on and adjust it so it's snug, then hold the baby and put it on your shoulders. I'm able to clio the back strap on my own, but if H is available he does it. We haven't attempted to back carry yet That sounds like mine. I have an infantino. Never watched or got a video with it.

snippet17 Is yours an Infantino Mei Tai? They have so many pretty patterns and at $30 a pop (compared to $100+ for other carriers) it's tempting to want more than one!

My office neighbor swore by her My Little Lamb Fischer-Price swing/rocker. Said it was the only way to get her younger son to sleep at all, unless she was up holding and rocking him. We put one of them on the registry, and I believe Chipmunchkin's adopted Grandma (the lady who married us) is insisting on buying it.

1.) How far along are you?
21w1d 2.) Symptoms/Complaints/AW moments/etc? I'm extremely tired and I keep getting cold sore outbreaks. Normally I only have to deal with cold sores once a year, but I've already had 5 outbreaks this pregnancy. Part of it is DD keeps grabbing my lips when I'm holding her, but I think it's also the hormones. I also find I am getting winded very easily, and it sucks. I'm just disgruntled and really missing beer right now 3.) What is/was the most ridiculous/frivolous thing you or someone else considered buying or has bought for baby? (Alternatively, aside from diapers, wipes, and onesies, what is/what do you think will be the most useful item for baby?) Thankfully for DD1 I was able to shut down most of the things people wanted to purchase for her that were ridiculous. My older sister does keep buying her "artisan" stuffed animals from Europe every time she goes, but they're cute as hell and unique, so I actually think it's pretty cool. As for what is the most useful...for the love of god people, PURCHASE A GOOD SWING! Purchase two (one to travel with, or to keep on a different level of your house). Also buy a jumper for when baby is old enough. Those two devices were total lifesavers for us before DD could crawl - we called them our babysitters. Amen sister. Swing that plugs into the wall is in my top two baby items (along with the Rock n Play). We bought a second, folding one (from the same line) for MIL's house. T's swing plugs into the wall too. Right now she is blah about it but loved it when we first brought her home. She has phases like this with different binkies so I hope she loves it again.

Chipmunchkin and I have been playing a little game of "whack a mole" since late yesterday afternoon. I feel a bulge (doesn't hurt, but mildly uncomfortable) up at the top of my belly/just below the ribs. Feels like a foot. A bit of gentle pressure, and the bulge goes away....only to move a little to the right or left and pop up again! Apply gentle fingers, and it retracts and moves to a different spot in the same general area. Right now, I'd say she's winning this game...

This is cute now, but wait until she starts playing this game with your bladder. No one wins that game. No one. She's been doing sporadic vertical push ups on the bladder for at least 3 weeks, with punches to my colon. Since then, I refuse to let my bladder get more than half "full" and won't go for a walk with DH until after I've peed. Twice.

I don't have the fainted clue what position my baby is in but since I woke up this morning my belly is SO LOPSIDED! There's a huge hard bulge on the right and the left is all sunken and squishy. We have not played the bladder game (yet) but he's been kicking (or elbowing?) me in the right breast for weeks. I think that means I need a better bra...
