So I'm starting to get a lot of questions about our baby registry (or lack thereof) and figure I should probably get on that. I think H and I will just hit up Ikea and/or Craigslist for the furniture pieces we need, but am not sure what else we need to register for. Everything I've read suggests a lot of onesies / burping clothes, which is fine, but there's also BS things like baby wipe warmers on the recommended registries.
So, what are the items that we should absolutely have? What are the convenient items that are great to have but not necessarily needed? Any suggestions are awesome!

I loved my bottle warmer because I could pre-make the bottles and warm them up while changing baby's diaper. I kept it in our room/nursery so I didn't have to zombie-walk all over the house at night. I love my diaper genie too. Arm & Hammer makes bags to throw away poopy diapers for travel that disguise the nasty smell. They're awesome for travel. Also, disposable changing pads are awesome as well. If you're ever out and about and baby pees when you're changing her in the bathroom, you can just toss the pad in the garbage with no messy clean up. Babies r us makes good ones.
I wouldn't register for a ton of receiving blankets/quilts/burp clothes, etc. People will give you those regardless. I also recommend a Boppy pillow, even if you're not breastfeeding. I used mine to prop DD up because she was only happy when she was sitting up. DD loved her Nap Nanny, but parents who refused to follow the warnings on the package got them taken off the market.
Honestly, you don't really need a ton of stuff for the baby, especially not right away. Sorry I don't have a ton of super useful advice.

Awesome, thanks for the suggestions so far everyone! I'm looking forward to poking around for some of these things on registries this weekend.

A swing, a vibrating seat, a co-sleeper, a playpen, a high chair, nursery decor (for the crib, windows, etc), baby monitor, baby nail clippers, thermometer, baby bath tub, that "u" shaped pillow thing, stroller, car seat and an extra base if you have 2 cars, diaper bag(s), cover for the baby while in the car seat (hard to get little ones bundled under the straps), white noise/music player for baby room.
Don't shy away from these things....people will go in on group gifts for the pricier items.
My future SIL and future BIL would be LOST without the swing, vibrating seat and co-sleeper. My nephew is almost 2 months and hasn't been in his nursery at all yet.
