Spent about 10 minutes on it before I was annoyed out of my mind...

I am not a fan of the bump either.

I go on my month board over there and for the most part I am a lurker. Some of the threads have been really helpful for me being a FTM, but yes some people over there are for real BSC.

I have been lurking the bump for a while. I really like the baby name board and think the adoption board is helpful. The regs on the bump seem to know what they're talking about, especially with things like charting. It's the newbies that I find side-eye worthy.

Are either of those boards TTC friendly? pregnant.thebump.com/pregnancy-baby-message-boards.aspxThey have a few boards for TTC. I have never really lurked on them before, but as long as you aren't a crazy newb with silly questions the regs are pretty great at answering questions. And by silly questions I mean there was a girl who posted a picture of her bloody CM the other day asking about it... just yuck.

I haven't really looked into TTC stuff. I only looked at a few boards but the chit chat board is full of a few girls that are obsessed with 1 direction and turn literally every single question into something to do with one direction. I don't know if its some weird inside joke but it is just plain bizarre to me. On another board, a woman was concerned about bleeding and other symptoms and they pretty much said, yep you lost the baby, move on. Ouch.

The BMBs on the Bump aren't too bad, neither are TTGP (trying to get pregnant) or Parenting. The people on Parenting don't talk a lot about parenting.

Chit chat was basically started because the Bumpies wanted somewhere to talk about 1D and other fan girl stuff. They had taken over a birth month board before that board got their BFPs, then when the board started getting full of pregnant women, the Bunpies appealed to the Bump Gods and had chit chat created. To your last sentence, do you remember the board? That seems really insensitive.

Oh I see...I was insanely confused why literally every single thread turned into 1D...although I also really don't understand the fascination. And I don't remember but there was one poster (seemed a reg) in particular who just seemed rather insensitive to any and all questions. I admit, I didn't give it much of a chance after the 1D obsession lol. I really like ChitChat on TK so it was one of the first places I gravitated.

Yeah, the two chit chat boards are completely different.

I know a couple that had a miscarriage this week. They found out last week that she was pregnant for a month and this week she lost the baby. I feel so bad for the couple.

I am happy I did lurk on the local bump board. It seems to be busy enough to find information about which hospital to go to and childcare, etc.

This is my worst fear and I'm trying so hard not to obsess over it. I'm supposedly about 6 weeks but won't see the doctor for another 3! AHHH

I'm not a fan. I lurked for literally a month on TTC but they are so anti-newbie there that it's like pledging a sorority before you can become "accepted" enough to comfortably post. It wasn't even worth making a new SN for me personally. When you add how bitter most of "regs" seem to be, I didn't feel like it was good for much unless you were struggling with TTc.
Just my take, though.

Just my take, though. You hit it on the nose. It felt very unwelcoming (and not in a "you all are just a bunch of mean bitches!" way that many newbies would cry on the knot). Just didn't seem to want to help anyone new, just wanted to keep interacting with the same group of people.

I really enjoyed my month board on the what to expect when you're expecting site. They also have TTC boards, and even pre-TTC boards. Their PPD board was awesome too.

It isn't that their responses are necessarily mean or anything, just more like they always seem put out about having to talk to a new person. And there are several regs who probably should have moved to Trouble TTC awhile ago, and they give the TTC boards a vibe like you shouldn't be posting if you haven't been trying for X months and you shouldn't celebrate a BFP unless you've been trying for months. I'm sorry but TTC is not Trouble TTC and acting like posting a positive shortly after joining is an intentional insult to the board at large is just drama llamaing.
