I haven't BTDT yet but I did stay with my sister the entire time she was in labor for both my nephews and my niece and the one thing she complained about not bringing with her was snacks.

The funny thing about my sister was that she complained endlessly about not having snacks with her when my oldest nephew was born. The she forgot them again when my second nephew was born and complained endlessly again. I brought a bunch of snacks when my niece was born. Problem solved.

H had a backpack for himself with some pajamas and a change of clothes and I packed a carry on suitcase for myself and just an outfit and swaddle for baby. I brought a few changes of clothes but did not wear them. I wore the same crops to and from the hospital and just changed shirts. I spent the entire time in my hospital gown, it was just much easier for me. I didn't even put on a bra to go home lol, I wore a tank top and a tshirt over it.
The extra bags are a good idea because my nurse told me to take EVERYTHING home. Diapers, wipes, burp clothes, blankets. I have more mesh panties than I know what to do with lol. But they do come in handy. She even had me take a package of the pads you sleep on.
We also had to bring the information for our pediatrician.
