@jennylee We plan to use a diaper sprayer that attaches to the toilet once baby is eating solids. I didn't have an intention of soaking the diapers in a tub, just the recommended cycles 1)rinse warm or cold 2)wash hot w/detergent 3)rinse again. Also, I'm just planning to get a nice looking trash can and using a pail liner in it--lid off as I've read that they need to be aired out to prevent stink. And I want to try out disposable liners for when we're traveling or if we have to do daycare/a babysitter who isn't keen on cloth diapering. Obviously I'm a FTM so I don't know how well my plan is going to work out. But it sounds very doable from all of online 'research' I've done.

I have amazon prime/mom and I do a monthly subscription for diapers and wipes (wipes every other month). I believe I pay $36 for the 182 count of pampers diapers.
I also have a membership to the honest company. I only do the essential bundle monthly not any of their diapers. When I first looked into it, diaper bundle was around $70 and that is way more than I'd like to spend.

Lol - thanks. Sadly, cloth is a no go for us. It is DHs hill to die on. He's really skeeved out by the idea. I might pick up a few while we are on the outside and use them part time myself - best of both worlds. I have a feeling that even changing a disposable will be a challenge for him, so I need to make it as painless as possible! Thanks for the update though. What brand are you using? H was like this. He told me he was not changing any diapers. When it came down to it, he did it and he still does it without complaint - minus the gagging noises when there's a smelly load in there. OMG I would laugh so hard at H, and when I could control myself, "Uh, it's your baby too handsome!" ETA: I'm glad that when it came down to it that he does help you with that

I've been wondering how cloth diapering is going for you entropicbeauty! I am loving our cloth diapers, they're so cute and I even feel like the laundry is therapeutic lol. It took about a week to figure out the right laundry routine for our washer, but once I figured it out it became a piece of cake! And if there's ever any 'staining' after washing, the sun gets it right out! They're sooo cute too, I've gone crazy buying too many diapers, I need to sell some lol! Oh yeah and she had 3 blowouts in the 1 week she was in disposables and only 2 in the almost 6 weeks since, and in the same diaper, so we aren't using that diaper anymore.

entropicbeauty that's great! We've just switched from our newborn size diapers to our one size (gahhh they grow so fast!). We have alvas, bumgenius, grovia, gdiapers, and some prefolds and covers. Just had her in her first alva, super cute denim print and she pooped in it within an hour of course lol

We started getting leaks in the newborn diapers because she just outgrew the absorbency. The China cheapie diapers were the first to go. What inserts are you using in your alvas? I read that the inserts they come with aren't good, so I got bamboo inserts instead. You might want to try using prefolds or ordering different brand inserts.

I'm just gonna put this right here...
LMC you may not want to watch. It's mostly off screen but daddy here does loose his cookies.
Damnit guys I can't get it to work. It's basically him changing the diaper and at first is all "let's get you cleaned up" and quickly switching to trying to keep it together while coughing and fighting his reflexes. Baby of course is happily cooing the whole time and just looking around.

@lolo I recommend trying out grovia hybrids if you're interested in covers and inserts! I looove my grovias! They're having retailer appreciation month right now too and most retailers seem to be doing 15% off on their designated sale day.
