This goes for everyone, but especially pregnant ladies-- Listeria in hummus prompts national recall by Sabrawww.whas11.com/story/money/business/2015/04/08/listeria-in-hummus-prompts-national-recall-by-sabra/25499003/The presence of potentially deadly listeria in several samples of hummus has prompted a national recall by Virginia-based Sabra Dipping Co. of 30,000 cases of Classic Hummus. Inspectors with the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development learned of the possible contamination by listeria monocytogenes after routine inspections March 30 at a Kroger in Port Huron, according to Jennifer Holton, MDARD spokeswoman. Samples from the prepackaged product were collected for testing, and the results came back days later. Michigan officials alerted inspectors in Virginia and officials with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration who, in turn, are working with Sabra. The recall is limited to five stock unit, or SKU, numbers of Classic Hummus. No other Sabra product is affected at this time. READ: FDA press release on Sabra recall In healthy individuals, listeria monocytogenes may cause short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. But it can cause serious, and sometimes fatal, infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems, and it can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

I ate two tubs of Sabra hummus last week. Another tub the week before. It's the only thing I can guarantee won't make me feel sick after. Fuck this. Fuck everything.
*Hulks out and starts smashing everything*

nsweare Praying that the hummus you had wasn't part of the recall!! I brought home hummus with the veggie platter from my work baby shower yesterday...even though it's not Sabra I'm thinking about throwing it out anyways. Of course hummus sounds absolutely delicious to me right now.

I don't believe there are any reported illnesses but the recalls were based only on testing from the plant.

Did you check the dates, nsweare? It only applied to ones with a certain "best by" date. Ours were "best by April 20" which wasn't listed as one that could have problems. No. I ate them last week, so the containers are long gone. I'm not sick, so I assume that means I'm good to go. I'm just sad because this means I will probably have a hard time finding more at the store. And baby is HUNGRY yo.

I will figure out how to make hummus and then make it and then drive it to you and then hang out with you for a few days. I unlocked the front door, so feel free to just walk in when you get here.
