I'm looking for ideas on how to tell our parents that we are expecting.
I was thinking that with next weekend being Mother's Day AND my Dad's 80th birthday....plus we will have had an ultrasound by then....that I want to tell at least my parents next weekend. Probably tell both families...but that's his decision when he wants to tell his.
Anyway - how did you tell your families? They're going to be happy and this will be my parents first grandchild...so I want to do something cute.
Looking for ideas if you don't mind sharing.

Looks like you already figured out what you are going to do--but I'll share anyways With my first pregnancy we bought little baby outfits and wrapped them in gift bags, put them in a shipping box and labeled them to Auntie L and Grandma M (my sister lives with my mom). We brought it over to my mom's house and H pretended like it was a package that had been delivered for them. They saw the label and thought it might be from my nephew--and then they opened the package and my sister figured it out right away (took my mom to see sister's reaction before she got it). We did pretty much the same thing for H's parents except just handed them the gift(one of those I love my grandma bibs), even then MIL thought we had given her a gift from H's niece (why would we give them a gift from someone else's child who we never even see? lol) With my second pregnancy I just told my mom because I couldn't hold it in. And then for my sister and ILs we put a bun in our new oven for them to see when they came over and checked out our newly remodeled kitchen. When MIL opened the oven she just peeked and closed it not noticing the bun with a 'due June 2015' sign and baby shoes lol. And for my dad it happened to be his birthday so I got him a mug that says 'World's Greatest Dziadziu'. It didn't click for him at all that I was pregnant so we had to spell it out for him. Apparently our parents are pretty dense.

With DS, we waited until Christmas and told our families then. We told my ILs first an MH told his mom that next year you're going to need another stocking. She didn't get it at first, but my SIL got it right away. We told my dad and step-mom first and I told them we had one more gift but it wasn't arriving until about August. Then we told my mom. With DD, we knew earlier but again waited until Christmas. We told them I was pregnant again. We announced DS on FB in January, at about 12 weeks. We never officially announced DD on FB until I put pictures up of DS painting sisters room, which was in June, about 2 months before her due date.
