When do you go back to the doctor @daubachsgirl23?

I go back on Thursday, which feels like forever! He mentioned in passing last week that he may strip my membranes this week, which put me into labor last time, so I am hoping for a repeat this time! I hope he doesn't have to because you already had the baby by then!

On my mind, specifically, is the mucus plug. I haven't lost mine yet. I think with DD I lost it a few days before I went into labor. This time around, I feel like I could go into labor at any minute. I'm horribly uncomfortable, baby is sitting super low, and I've been having contractions on and off for the last two weeks or so. Over the weekend, I had more contractions, not timeable or regular, but still enough for me to stop and notice. This is not the experience I had with DD--I never had that "Oh man, she's gotta be coming soon" feeling that I have now. Could I loose my plug and not notice? I've been having a lot of discharge, more than usual, over the last two weeks, too, but nothing mucus-y. I am feeling impatient and really, really ready to have this baby! Yes. I think that is possible. Especially because off all the extra discharge. My OB told me to be ready around 37 weeks because she thought I would go into labor early. Uh, no. I had DS at 41w+1d. Once I hit 37 weeks I was like okay it's go time. Yeah... no.

I was definitely becoming obsessed with the mucus plus when it was almost time. My doctor started sweeping the membranes at 39 weeks, and again at 40 - could he have done that if the mucus plug was still there? I have a feeling I lost it in extra discharge and didn't even notice. vk I also had Tadpole at 41w1d, I was so uncomfortable then, and kind of bummed we didn't do the whole *rush to the hospital because the baby is coming!* thing that's always on tv shows and movies (even though they tell you to wait until a certain time IRL). Stupid induction. I know, I felt like I missed out on something. But according to all of my friends that have had kids I was lucky with my induction process. I was only in actual labor for 5.5 hours. My friend who had the rush to the hospital moment - she experienced that like 3 times before they actually admitted her. That made me feel better.

In general, I feel like whatever it takes to get the baby here successfully, healthy baby and mom, then I'm all for it. But after my induction experience I would NEVER go through that again. The induction didn't work because I don't think DD was ready yet. Unfortunately, for my health, it was necessary. Knowing what I know now, I would have asked to go straight to a C-section. I kind of got that rush to the hospital moment, because my doctor called and said go NOW, no waiting. I didn't even have a bag packed. But it wasn't quite the same as the happy excitement when your water breaks or you have contractions. THAT SAID, I don't feel like I missed out on anything by not feeling any real labor pains. F that noise.

Since I'm a first time mom, I have no experience with mucus plugs! I hope that you will be meeting baby very soon though @daubachsgirl23!
Is it early to have a membrane sweep at 37 weeks? Cause that's what my OB told me she is doing at my next appointment. Also, I know you ladies have talked about it before, but what the hell does a membrane sweep actually entail?

@swimmy1988 Ahh I see. Thanks for the info. That does sound a bit uncomfortable. And geez I don't know why she's going to do it so early.

And a lot of women will still go another week or two even if they get their membranes swept. I know when I hit that magic number I'm going to start begging my OB to get this baby out.

"They" can go fuck themselves. As far as I'm concerned if 37 weeks was full-term 3 years ago, it's full-term now. I'm DONE being pregnant. DONE. You guys, I know I'll be just fine if I have to wait until 39 weeks, but my mental health is in serious decline because of this pregnancy. I don't know if it's PPD kicking in early, or just my fatigue with the whole process, but feeling like dirt for all these months with no break has really taken its toll.

Thanks soulrebel33 and @daubachsgirl23. Obviously I would never wish for my baby to be a preemie and everything that goes along with that. I would be heartbroken if he came now. I want him to have the best start I can give him. DD was 37 wks 4 days when she was born and didn't have any problems at all. I try really hard to remind myself that this process isn't about me, it's about the baby I'm carrying. Sometimes it just all gets the better of me.

nsweare I'm sorry pregnancy has been so rough on you! You're almost there and baby will be in your arms in no time! At this point, it really is hard to imagine how we could still have over a month left though. Even with a pretty easy 2nd and 3rd trimesters for me, I am exhausted and it scares me that it's only going to get harder from here!

It's not like you're looking for black market pitocin or anything. Feel however you feel. Where does one get black market Pitocin? I'm asking for a friend...............
