It is finally raining today after weeks and weeks of rain in the forecast but no actual rain. We needed it desperately.
1. How far along are you? 16+1
2. Rants/vents/AWs? I can't believe it, and I know it's a bit early for this, but I think I felt movement this weekend. Saturday morning I was laying in bed and felt what kind of felt like an eye twitch down there. It lasted for a few seconds and kind of freaked out at first, but when I thought about it I think that it was a little flutter. Then yesterday at church I was talking to someone and it felt like two pieces of fabric rubbing together. I actually adjusted my dress thinking that was it, but it didn't stop. That was a bit longer lasting, maybe ... 20 seconds? It's very surreal.
Otherwise, nothing major ... Getting headaches pretty frequently, but I find that if I have a small bit of caffeine (I otherwise try to avoid it) it helps with the headache immensely. I'm also very stuffy from allergies (see: no rain) but hopefully the worst of that is over. And just so, so thirsty. I drink more than 100 oz a day, sometimes I hit 100 oz by lunch time but I still get thirsty. It's nuts.
3. Best/worst thing about being pregnant in the summer? Being hot. We don't have central air and it has been hot and so, so humid the past few days. The rain is cooling everything down for this week but I know it's only a matter of time before we're back to hot and humid again.
Random:
What do you do differently in the summer than in other seasons in terms of lifestyle?
We are definitely staying up later as the days get longer. My H basically hibernates in the winter and is asleep most nights by 830. Now we are having the opposite problem where I want to be asleep and he wants to stay up and talk. Last night I went to bed around 11 and he came in, turned on a light and started reading. IF YOU ARE GOING TO READ PLEASE GO TO ANY OTHER ROOM IN THE HOUSE.

1. How far along are you? 5w 6d 2. Rants/vents/AWs? Heartburn is already starting to get uncontrollable. I'll be asking for Zantac at my next appointment. Also, it's the norm here to not get an u/s until 18 weeks. I don't want to wait that long! 3. Best/worst thing about being pregnant in the summer? The heat makes it hard to sleep. Our house is generally cool all year round, even without AC but trying to sleep sucks. I hate sleeping without at least a sheet but sometimes that's too warm. I'm already finding it difficult to fall asleep. I'm just glad I'm not 34-41 weeks pregnant like last summer. Random: What do you do differently in the summer than in other seasons in terms of lifestyle? Definitely walk more (if that's even possible). And nap more. We haven't put in our window units yet, but we do have a fan that goes in the window and basically blows outside air in. It has made a HUGE difference in our room. Last night it was 81 degrees on our main thermostat, but in our room it was literally 10 degrees cooler at 71. When we woke up this morning it was in the mid-60s. We will go to our window units when it gets to be unbearably hot, but for now the fan has made a huge, huge difference in sleeping. Plus the bonus of white noise. Just didn't know if that was an option for you.

@jennylee - Hooray for viability!
ktmac - How exciting that you felt the baby! I felt DD for the first time around 12-13 weeks, so I have no doubt what you felt was Rocky.
@swimmy1988 - I'm sorry you're getting heartburn already. Ugh.
1. How far along are you? 36 weeks 5 days. I'll be considered term in 2 days!!!
2. Rants/vents/AWs? Ugh I can't sleep. I was up at 2am and didn't fall back asleep until after H left for work this morning. Luckily DD is with her grandparents for a couple days, so I was able to doze a bit on and off until now. Also, I've been having contractions for the past 16 hours or so. Nothing real regular, but they make me feel like I have to poop (sorry for the TMI). I'm not having any other symptoms of labor, so I think these are just practice contractions. Hopefully I don't have to deal with these for another two weeks.
3. Best/worst thing about being pregnant in the summer? I was pregnant with DD in the summer (first/second trimester), and I'll be supremely pregnant for a couple of weeks this time. It's just too damn hot for my tastes. I'd much rather waddle around in sweaters and yoga pants, not shorts and tiny tees. The best thing though is that no body gives you crap about wanting to sit inside in the air conditioning.
Random:
What do you do differently in the summer than in other seasons in terms of lifestyle? We tend to get out and about more in the evenings. Because it's lighter out so much later we're more likely to run evening errands. The day doesn't feel over as soon as the work day ends like it does in the winter.

ktmac I wish we could have window units. But our windows suck, they don't open more than a foot. It's why H wants to get them replaced. nsweare, I was wondering too. Hope everything is fine kristenkay! And I had heartburn after Tadpole, but seems being pregnant is exacerbating the issue. i don't think the fan keeps it open more than a foot. just might be an option is all!

Totally forgot to add to my rants: my boobs are leaking. It's not a lot, but enough to be annoying. Time to buy nursing pads.

1. 23+w (or 25, by other date) - either way, I'm viable this week!!! 2. Rants: just that DH refuses to even talk about names at this point. After his blow up last week, he's not even attempting names. It makes me both angry and sad. Vents: Reflux is my nemesis. I read that I should take Rolaids/Tums etc right before a meal to see if that helps. It worked for supper last night, I'll try again today. It doesn't take away the burning, but it did stop the coughing fits that interrupt every meal. And - my blood pressure has started to bottom out (drop) when I stand still for too long. It's happened twice to me while on duty in the hallway, including this morning, when I almost didn't make it to sit down in time. It used to happen to me a lot when I was younger, so thankfully I recognize the feeling and can find my way to a chair in time. This morning was a close call though... AWs - Did I mention viability?!?! 3. I have no idea. This is a first for me (well, being pregnant beyond the very earliest of days anyway). I'm thinking that the best thing will be unscheduled naps and ice cream; worst will be heat, even though I usually love it. Random: We eat supper later in the summer. Our days are still getting longer and right now we have daylight from about 430am - 945pm. We have another month of days getting longer, and this is definitely my favourite time of year. I'm much happier and way more energetic than I am in the winter. Every article of clothing/linens etc end up on the clothesline,and I plan laundry around the weather. Wahooo for the viability day milestone!!!

nsweare @jennylee @swimmy1988 Thanks for thinking of me ladies! Everything is good here, I just haven't been on the computer much since starting maternity leave! I'm going to have to download the app! I've been cleaning the house a lot, taking naps, hanging with friends and my mom when they aren't working, and watching a lot of Netflix (The Wonder Years when H isn't home, and Mad Men when he is). 1. How far along are you? 37w3d 2. Rants/vents/AWs? I'm still feeling good and with uninterrupted full nights of sleep, and now that I'm on leave I usually get a mid-morning nap in after having breakfast with H! I'm shocked at how ginormous my belly is though, and soooo ready to meet this little girl! I am definitely retaining water and swelling now and don't last as long on our nightly walks/on my feet in general. 3. Best/worst thing about being pregnant in the summer? Well hopefully baby G will be here before the official start of the summer. It's already warm here some days and it's only going to get hotter so I know it will be uncomfortable in the heat considering this baby is a constant internal heater as it is. Random: What do you do differently in the summer than in other seasons in terms of lifestyle? I usually eat healthier and get outside for walks and bike rides more. The heat tends to make me crave salads and fruit and not be as hungry and I just love being in the sun! Also, in case anyone was doubting my shock at my bump size, a comparison of me at 19 weeks versus 37 weeks:

guys, Rocky is currently dancing up a storm. After a couple of days of not feeling the kid move, I am getting teary eyed. It's so surreal, and this time it is unmistakable.
