I was super-excited by my BBT this morning, and FF gave me cross-hairs! I was so skeptical about this whole temp charting business, but it looks like it may actually be working! Hopefully we had our timing right this cycle. We were at my parent's house this weekend, which made the possibility of BDing a little awkward... Yay for the "H" reading LMC! Hopefully that trend continues - good luck! Sorry for the tiny pic again... I'm still having image attachment issues.

Question for everyone: what type/brand of prenatal vitamin are you using/did you use? I'd like to start one but I forgot to ask my doc for a specific recommendation last time I saw her. I like gummy ones if you've had one that tastes decent.

LMC I don't have a paid subscription to FF (I never pay for anything I can get free!)... it just put the DPO stuff there this morning when it gave me cross-hairs. So I don't know the difference. My chart is showing the full month though, and I notice yours only shows up to today. Maybe there is a setting in FF that can be changed? I'm just using whatever the default was.

LMC I am happy that you finally got a high reading gingerlady - I agree with pp your timing looks good. I currently use the gnc brand with iron. I am got rid of my gold membership so I will be finding something compareble to that at kmart.

Woo woo woo @lmc!
Thanks for the vitamin advice everyone. I ordered a bottle of Vitafusion gummies to start off with. That way at least I know I'm getting the folic acid, which is really the only thing that's known to be important in the first few weeks.

It never occurred to me not to do anything different during these 2 weeks... I'm a runner and I intend to continue running during this time, which will certainly make me out of breath and sweaty (that's the whole point!). I also have a 3-day backpacking trip planned for Labor Day weekend, which will be the moment of truth I guess - either I get my period in the woods or I don't.

@lmc0233 Good luck for strong swimmers! Pineapple is your friend! And happy belated birthday! gingerlady My fertility doc gave me an RX for Vitafol One which I loved, but they are expensive. I tried others but hated the constipation and weird pee. Now I'm taking Smarty Pants prenatal gummies which I love. They are at Whole Foods, cheaper than some but still expensive, but I found them cheaper at Walgreens.com. $27 for a 3 month supply. It's so hard to only eat 6! I'm a runner too and my doctor said to keep doing everything as you normally would, within reason and what your body is used to (so don't pick the 2ww to do crazy hill work in 90 degree heat). I had a 2ww once with a marathon smack in the middle and she said it was ok since my body was ready for it.

LMC that chart looks good! And also, I didn't have any "feelings" about turning 30 either. You shouldn't! I'm having more difficulty with my impending 38th, which means that I can no longer claim to be in my "mid-thirties". But whatever. I got a bottle of Vitafusion Prenatal gummies yesterday and they're super-yummy! I'm going to have to restrain myself to keep from OD'ing. Giaspo - good to know Whole Foods has a gummy option too. I'll check them out as well. Also, thanks for backing up my idea that continuing running is okay. I don't plan to run any marathons in the next week or so, but will definitely do my normal 3-5 miles. Did you run through your pregnancy as well? My understanding is that it is okay as long as you're maintaining rather than training, and obviously at some point you get to be too big and it's uncomfortable. But I'll cross that bridge if/when I come to it...

LMC- Are you peeing yet?! Will you pee for me?! I am on the edge of my seat!! Also, my feelings about turning 30 were that I felt pretty awesome. I was happy to be past the uncertainty of my 20s where things didn't make sense. Your 30s are amazing. I also spent my 30th birthday on the beach in Thailand, so that could have helped Agreed! 30s are way better than 20s!!!

gingerlady Unfortunately no pregnancies for me yet (I'm really old!) but I do see a lot of women running with a bump. I hear from friends that there are bands to help make it more comfortable and that it helps with swelling and such. One ran into her 7th month! I just went for a run and was thinking about it. Looking at the calendar, the end of a future 2ww could be the week before one of my marathons this fall. If I got a positive test, I think I'd skip the race regardless of what my doctor said. I'd be the happiest person dropping out!!

I'd be the happiest person dropping out!! My apologies - I had assumed you were expecting and/or a mom. Good luck with your TTC journey! I think it's great that you're still out there running marathons, and I'm stoked that there are options out there for pregnant runners. I'm signed up for a 10k in October, and a 3 day backpacking trip in late September, but I was worried I might have to cancel one or both if I got knocked up. But I also think it's silly to rearrange my life just in case I ...may... be pregnant sometime in the future. For all I know it may take many months or even years to conceive, or maybe it will never happen. I'm not planning on putting my life on hold in the meantime.

gingerlady No worries at all! The journey has ups and downs and is quite a ride. It sounds like you've got a great perspective and a lot of fun stuff planned. Things can always be rearranged if/when the time comes. The backpacking trip sounds like a blast. Are you going somewhere fun for it?

We're just going locally to the White Mountains in New Hampshire (we live in Boston). We're actually doing a one-night next weekend as well. We really like to go out west, but that's more involved. My husband has trips to Yellowstone, Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park, and the High Sierras all up his sleeve. It's actually the main childless thing we love to do that it really bums me out to think of if/how we could manage to do it with a kid in tow. But again, we'll cross that bridge if/when we come to it

I like Beantown, but I'm sort of a country girl at heart.

gingerlady That sounds amazing! And great time to go. I'm not far from you (NJ) and my best friend is a big hiker. Over the years she has taken me on a few trips to National Parks... Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Glacier, Banff, Arches, etc. I was amazed that such natural beauty exists and was in a constant state of awe. And FWIW I have a friend who travels the world as her passion, and now she does it at age 47 with her 5 year old son in tow. He took his first trip at 9 months to Croatia. She said it's just different, a little slower and an extra pack. :-) ETA if I can get onto a computer I'll post a few pics. You've got me reminiscing now!

Oh, I'm totally going to invest in one of those baby-carrying backpacks! The problem with kids is that their personalities define what you can do to a certain extent, and you have to become much more flexible. Some kids would love to hike or travel. Others maybe not-so-much. I try not to think about what kind of kid we'd have, so I don't get disappointed if things don't happen the way I had imagined.

I had a harder time turn 29 than 30. I love my 30s. gingerlady - I don't run, but even with my surgery two weeks ago my doctor said I can do my normal lifting etc by the end of next week or the beginning of the following. That includes yoga and workingout. So if I can do that so soon after surgery and being pregnant there should be no issues with you continuing on with your normal activities. But you MAY need to cut back in the 3rd tri.
