1. How far along are you?
2. How are you feeling?
3. Does anyone plan on placenta ecapsulation and/or blood cord banking?
Bonus: Are you planning on or have you announced your pregnancy?

1. 22w 3d
2. I am feeling great at the moment. Not that emotional right now. (but who knows how that may change)
3. I don't think I can donate due to the blood transfusion and I could not afford to keep the blood cord for my own baby. I, also, could not think of a better question and saw that posted on my local BC board. (But of course I thought of better questions after I posted that one)
4. I was going to post a cute announcement on fb, but I doubt I will now. It was going to be with our xbox controllers and stating that player 3 is coming March But I am not good at adding text to pictures and pretty much nixed that idea. Plus its very rare I ever post things on fb or go on there anymore. We have told all of the family. Some may still not know due to not seeing them and no one telling them through the grape vine.

1. How far along are you? 8w6d
2. How are you feeling? Okay. Still feeling thankful for avoiding the bad morning sickness - if I remember to eat often enough (including a middle-of-the-night snack) then I feel fine most of the day. Very tired.
3. Does anyone plan on placenta ecapsulation and/or blood cord banking? I'm not into placenta encapsulation. I'd consider cord blood collection for donation (rather than banking). I've known and cared for many patients whose lives were saved by bone marrow transplant, and cord blood banks are one of the best sources for these life-saving stem cells, especially for those who aren't fortunate enough to have a matched sibling who can act as a donor.
Bonus: Are you planning on or have you announced your pregnancy? I've only told my husband and my mom at this point. I don't think we'll do a formal announcement... maybe a short-and-sweet Facebook post at ~20 weeks if everything goes smoothly.

1) 10 weeks, 2 days
2) Feeling great! I've another 3 weeks of the first trimester, but I don't feel any nausea. I was physically exhausted yesterday, after a very active Saturday, so I basically did a few chores and lounged on the couch reading with kitty snuggles.
3) We are starting to talk about that. Today was my meet the OB appointment, and they had Cord Blood retrieval consent forms mixed in with insurance stuff, and I also got a big folder of info for DH and I to review that includes some brochures on that. But that's all for review, research, and discussion as we move through the pregnancy.
We've told some people- a few immediate family members, a few friends. But we're keeping a "big announcement" under wraps for the time being

FYI something I didn't realize about cord blood donation... even when you donate it to the public bank, if you or a family member need it in the future before a stranger uses it, you get it back. I liked that aspect of it - you don't just go to the back of the line or get matched with a random stranger, you get your own cells back. That is a nice aspect. I need to do some research and see if they will even take mine due receiving blood in August. I know I cannot donate blood until after August 13 of next year so I am not sure if the blood cord can be donated.

I know I cannot donate blood until after August 13 of next year so I am not sure if the blood cord can be donated. Definitely clarify with the cord blood donation people, but I'd imagine that giving cord blood is very different from donating your personal blood because it basically collects what pools in the placenta (it's baby's blood, not yours). So it depends on why they have a restriction on you giving blood after having a previous transfusion. If the reason is because you're at risk of having gotten a blood-borne infection from the transfusion (even though this risk is sooooooo minute it's basically zero) then they may not let you. But, if the concern is because it takes a while for your own body to re-make blood after a significant amount of blood loss then it's not such a big deal because all that blood gets lost with the delivery of the placenta anyway. Anyway, that's my rambling way of thinking about it. Who knows what their policies are!

I think this is a pregnancy thing (at least for me) since I never felt this way before) I keep feeling like I have to burp. At first it was just in the evenings but now sometimes it occurs in the afternoon. Sierra Mist or 7up will help with it, but I don't want to drink a 2 liter bottle of it every day. Any suggestions?

I feel dumb. I never had hearburn before and didn't know that this is what it sometimes feels like.
@jennylee - I will go to Rite Aid tomorrow and get some Rolaids.

I never had heartburn before or during my pregnancies, but I did end up having terrible acid reflux. I had no idea what to do for it because it wasn't typical heartburn. And I was on Prevacid my entire pregnancy with P because it somewhat helped my nausea. I just think stomach acid goes all haywire during pregnancy and it can cause a whole array of symptoms that don't look like by-the-book heartburn. Don't feel dumb.

I'm terrified of pregnancy heartburn... I have a history of really bad heartburn/acid indigestion that happens sporadically and is always stress-related, but it can be crippling and doesn't go away without high-dose Zantac and Prevacid. I keep hoping that if I can take care of myself and keep anxiety levels low that I can avoid it getting too bad...

I hope that it isn't bad for you - some women never experience it at all. That said, in pregnancy, it comes from all of your organs being displaced and being pushed up. Also, your digestive tract slows, and this includes the esophogical (sp?) flap. The good news is that you will be able to treat it. Just don't go too long before treating it; that will cause a lot of unnecessary stress and misery. FTR, baby D was born with quite a bit of hair (on the sides, not so much on top), so the old wives tale came true.Same with J. It's thin on top but super thick and almost an inch long at her neck. Baby mullet! Heartburn/reflux can also manifest as just constantly needing to clear your throat so if you realize you're annoying yourself with how much you do it, pop some Tums. This actually happened while I was at brunch today. I had to couch so often due to needing to clear my throat. I was making sure I drank enough, but 2 glasses of water and two hot chocolates were not enough.

I've also started having some heartburn, which stinks bc DH cooks spicy mexican food a lot, and I love it.
I'm using the heartburn as my excuse for a small dish of ice cream in the evenings. I regret nothing.

I'm sure it's because I was consuming more calories in the form of alcohol pre-pregnancy than I was willing to admit!

If you don't think you can keep your anxiety levels low, specially since being pregnant can change how your anxiety is, you may want to talk to your doctor to change your meds. Luckily, so far I have been getting less panic attacks compared to usual since becoming pregnant.

I'm not currently taking any meds but there have definitely been times when I've considered it. I feel pretty good so far during this pregnancy (and in general for the few years). It helps me tremendously when I stay active and talk through things that are bothering me before I let them build up. My job is also MUCH less stressful than it used to be, which is a big piece of the puzzle.
