UPDATE ALREADY! They just got to the hospital and are now waiting around. This wasn't a very substantive update. I'm glad for her sake that they don't schedule like my hospital did. If I'd made it to the scheduled induction rather than the quasi-emergency one, they wanted me to check in the night before to start cervedil (sp?), attempt to sleep in that GOD AWFUL BED, then start pitocin in the morning. No fucking thank you. Didn't need the cervedil anyway. Hospital beds suck to sleep in and I was very drugged up. Most of the time I needed drugs because my back hurt from the bed! I could not imagine trying to sleep in one at 40+ weeks pregnant.

Hi guys! LMC is such a great labor buddy! Unfortunately I have no actual news. This kid is probably not going anywhere until tomorrow. He's cozy. H and I and trying to enjoy some quiet time with no responsibilities and cable tv. I'm thankful that I'm able to eat and drink whatever I want right now, even if that means I'm really not in active labor. The food here is good and H is pleased with the cafeteria. We have both been able to nap. Thank you so much for this thread - I really wish I had more to report but hopefully by morning! xoxo

Hang in there! He will make his way out eventually. Do they have you on cervadil or pitocin? Cervidil. And I'm finally doing something but they are talking about another 12 hour round of it. I cried.

Hi guys. I am up waiting for him to come back from the nursery for a feeding. Apparently giant babies need to have their blood sugar monitored for the first 24 hours. He is totally healthy so far. Baby is S.amuel Vin.cent. Samuel means "asked of God" and Vincent means strength. Thanks LMC for keeping everyone posted. I will post a birth story at some point that's not 4am. The short version is that he was born almost exactly 36 hours after we started induction. He was born after a total of about 8 hours of actual labor including about an hour and a half of pushing. I tore, which is not surprising when you birth a three month old. Getting the placenta out was also horrible but I barely cared at that point. My H is an absolute rock star and is taking the full night shift (except for feeding of course) since I'm still unsteady on my feet from the epi. He is eating like a champ. Thanks so much for your support!! Xoxox
