I have an appointment on Dec. 9 (after not having one for 6 weeks). I should, also, have Gestational Diabetes test during that appointment. I cannot take any more time off in December so other than lab work that will be my last appointment for the year.

I have an appointment Dec 9th too. Nothing special I think... just a routine check-in and that's it for the month. More excitement will come in January, I expect, with an anatomy scan etc.

gingerlady - appointments the first trimester are pretty boring and it is rare you go. But I preferred the ten minute appointments over the twenty minute ones. I think I am to start going every two weeks after this upcoming appointment but I can't start doing that until I submit a doctor's note since they will be too close together (need to give a 7 day notice before that week's schedule is to come out so its more of a 14 day notice), holiday vacation time had to be pre-approved well in advance, and I cannot take time off when my boss does until the new guys have some more experience.

I'm happy to take boring appointments! Hopefully just an excuse to hear heartbeats

I've one appointment on the 16th. They are doing my gestational diabetes test early- my dad's diabetic, hence early testing. I will also have a follow up sono to check on if there's any further issues with the hemorrhage (still no spotting), but I'm hoping for some good images on the sono (and hopefully Chipmunchkin does NOT prevent a facial profile. Again.) I've also got my fingers crossed that during this sono, we'll find out if it's a boy or a girl, before the anatomy scan in January

The doctor's office tried to cancel my appointment for tomorrow! WTF I haven't had an appointment in 6 weeks and I am 27 and some days pregnant. No! I know I cannot take off later in the week and asking for next week off cannot be done. I am planning on getting a doctor's note at this appointment to say x is the day I need to start having doctor's appointments every 2 week and x is the date that I need to have an appointment every week. Plus I need at least one script changed. I don't mind seeing another doctor. I know the chances of mine being there the day I deliver is slim, so its good for me to see other doctors in the practice and at the hospital.

That's so annoying snippet17! Don't they know that people have to make plans for these appointments WAY ahead of time? That's one thing I really like about my OB practice: my OB sees patients all day on Wednesdays and she never does any procedures or deliveries on those days, so she's guaranteed to be around (unless she gets sick, I guess). From what I can tell pretty much any of the 30 obstetricians in the practice could deliver my baby though.

gingerlady - I know right. I think when I told them that I was driving home from Erie just for this appointment and could not reschedule next week that they found an opening. I know a lot of the doctors will be busy the following week due to Christmas and the week between Christmas and New Years which I could see many doctors taking off. Plus damn it, I need to hear the heartbeat ASAP since it always cheers me up.

I just got back from my OB appointment. Everything is hunky-dory and I did love hearing that heartbeat! Altogether I think I'm in the boring part of my pregnancy, which is fine by me. I did schedule my anatomy scan ultrasound for Jan 7th.

I did schedule my anatomy scan ultrasound for Jan 7th. boring = good. Although I HATE my practice sometimes because those 5 minute, pee in a cup, listen to the heartbeat appts take like an hour (not including travel time) because they are always running late. Really not looking forward to when I have to go weekly. I managed to get one of the first appointments of the day, which was great. They got me in-and-out in less than 20 minutes total. Also, they have a policy where if you're a hospital employee (I am) then you can call the clinic 15 min before your appointment to see if your practitioner is running late and they'll give you an ETA for your appointment. Haha, I exchanged about 2 sentences with my OB today. "Any bleeding or pain?" "No." "Any other questions or concerns?" "No." Then I joked that I had a goal to be her most boring patient ever. She didn't laugh.

gingerlady, my anatomy scan is the day after yours!! One of our paralegals had an ultrasound today. Waiting to hear from her on how things went. My supervisor thought both of us had appointments today, so in between bringing in the cake for her son's birthday at school and taking photos, she was texting me asking what colors she can buy a baby outfit in. I had to remind her that my appointment is next week, so she has to wait (plus, no guarantees on whether Chipmunchkin will let us see what equipment is growing in all its glory). Haaaaa.

gingerlady - Happy your appointment went well. Mine did, too. Heard the heartbeat, didn't gain too much weight, when they measured me it was spot on, etc. My practice does not start bi-weekly appointments until week 30, so my next appointment is not until January 7. They could not do my GD test since the lab at the hospital closes at 4 and my appointment was at 2:40. BUT I found out the lab is open a few hours on Saturday so I am going for that and some other blood tests on Dec. 19. The bad thing is they are not open long enough on weekends for the 3 hour if I do not pass the 1 hour. The few concerns I had (itch tummy and aches in the legs) they were not worried about yet.

I am at my 1 hour test. I chugged that drink down. I had the orange one and didn't taste it. But it sure is sugary.
I have this test, syphilis, and a general blood test (white count, iron, etc) today. Later on today is my hospital tour. I am sooo excited for it!!!

YES! I passed my 1 hour test! Had some low results for the cbc but none of those really surprise me.

I haven't heard a peep out of my doctor's office re: the one hour test last Wednesday. I guess that means I passed mine too!
