Is it really the last day of the 2nd to last month of the year? GAAAH!
1) How far along are you?
2) How are you feeling?
3) Has anyone made any comments/asked questions that made you feel super awesome about your pregnancy, or make you want to smack them?

1) 14 weeks, 2 days 2) Good. all the nausea is gone, and my appetite is slowly returning. But my pants are still a pain in the ass. 3) We went and saw my folks for American Thanksgiving last week. One of the ladies my mom goes for walks with (and knows about the pregnancy) gave me a hug, said I was glowing, and how beautiful I looked. She's a sweetie. Dad was a bit of a jerk- he doesn't like the first name we picked out for a girl: Elizabeth. It's not a family name for either side, but it was the first name of my sweet, beloved, adopted Grandma. He kept making sneering references to Lizzie Borden. I'm not sure if his attitude was due to his pain and discomfort in the surgical recovery and he was lashing out/needing to control something, or what, but I told him this is my child with DH, and we will name the baby as we see fit. Mom is aware that if his behavior continues in the vein, he will be faced with the choice of continuing to complain about the name vs. seeing his grandchild. Of course, we still don't know if it's a boy vs. a girl. Sigh. @swimmy1988, how are you feeling? I saw your weekend post where you got stuck running 4 departments by yourself. gingerlady, anyone get a turkey baster smack?

1) How far along are you? 12w6d 2) How are you feeling? I feel like a million bucks. Nausea is gone and my energy levels are back to baseline. I actually went running FOUR times this past week! I had my first ultrasound this morning (NT scan) so DH and I got to "meet" our baby boy. It was so exciting! And everything looked perfect. The measurements were consistent with 13 weeks, so I'm sticking with the EDD of June 7th based on when I thought I O'd rather than my LMP which would only put me at 12w3d. 3) Has anyone made any comments/asked questions that made you feel super awesome about your pregnancy, or make you want to smack them? Well my aunt cried tears of joy when I made the announcement at Thanksgiving dinner, which was pretty cute. And my cousin, who has a 3 year-old and a 6 month-old said she was so proud of me and that I was inspiring her to go for #3. She's also going to hand-me-down all of her baby stuff (SCORE!). In general everyone's been really great and no chipmunk, no one got thwacked with a turkey baster The only person who rubbed me the wrong way a little bit was my sister - when I told her last week her first response was "congratulations" followed almost immediately by "why the hell did you wait so long to tell me?"

1. 26w3d 2. My boobs hurt. I have room for them to grow in this bra which is good if they grow more. I only went up one cup size but damn I went from a 36 to a 44 in band size. The band size does not need to go up. 3. My grandma said she is against people rubbing pregnant women's bellys. I love her for that. My cousin offered all of her daughter's old baby clothes. Which I will take them up on that offer and will be at their place sometime after the shower. Plus they have one of those $50 chairs for thr baby for the floor that she said she will give to me. My mom is getting on my nerves about me wanting all of the handme downs I can get. She keeps saying things like well you never know what new items people will buy you and don't you wanr new for your baby. Everything will be new to the baby and stop being a fucking snob. We are not rich and I rather spend money else where. chipmunk- today is the last day of November. I have the rule of not telling people the name for a reason. Everyone has a fucking opinion and I do not care what their opinion is but my luck I would over think the name if I had one bad comment. I am happy everyone is out of the first trimester nausea and having no energy.

chipmunk Elizabeth was my first choice name if we were to have another girl. It's so classic! Elizabeth is on our list too Also, this is why we don't share names! Elizabeth was the leading choice of middle name for us had this baby been a girl. It's my mother's middle name.

chipmunk - I honestly think your dad is the first person I have heard that has issues with the name Elizabeth. Maybe he would prefer if you spelled it Elyzabeth.

To clarify- my parents are the only ones we told about the names. No other family members have been informed at this point (mostly because we're announcing the fact that we're pregnant with the Christmas cards).
I'm really starting to think the "Elizabeth" issue is Dad's way of lashing out because a) he's in pain and discomfort from his surgery and b) he's a control freak with certain behavioral tendencies, and very my way or the high way- we haven't "consulted" him about a damn thing with the pregnancy, despite him being a doctor (note, my sister is a freaking OB/GYN, and I'm not asking her advice, either). So the name is a convenient target.
My mom did tell me that Dad mentioned the pregnancy to the wife of one of his military buddies (I don't mind, there's no way she could break the news to anyone else within our circle before we do), and his dislike over the name. Her response was to remind him it isn't his child, so he gets no say. That shut him down for a bit; hopefully he'll start thinking that way.
