I second wondfo. They are cheap and I didn't mind using them every day since they are so cheap. PandPmeant2B - sorry about the bfn but at least its still early.

Oh, I didn't have any luck with that type of test last year when I got pregnant. I got like 10 BFN's in a row, then as soon as I bought a drugstore test got my positive result. I'd already been pregnant for over 6 weeks when I got the BFP. Weird! Maybe you got a bad batch? I've never heard of someone getting that many erroneous BFNs! That's weird! I turned a Wondfo before I was able to turn an FRER. They're really sensitive. I vote that it was a bad batch too.

I would just waive it.
Not sure if this makes you feel any better but I had chicken pox when I was a kid and still had to get the shot last year. I know someone who had to get the mmr shot again as an adult because not enough was in his system.

Sorry LMC! German measles = rubella. It's pretty rare because of routine vaccinations (though much more common than standard measles) but it can have devastating effects if you get it when pregnant, so I think it's actually a good recommendation. I know it's a total bummer to have yet another delay, but it will help you ensure that the pregnancy is as healthy as possible.

Haha, I see I'm in the minority here. I never trust that a disease is "eliminated", especially with anti-vaxers and world travelers around and about. Yes, the risks are small, but personally, I'd wait a month.

My concern with rubella is that it's usually very mild, so there's a strong possibility that it's massively under-reported. You have to have a high index of suspicion to diagnose rubella in a patient who has mild flu-like symptoms. The characteristic rash is often not present or is gone by the time someone is seen by a doctor. Also many people get it and never feel sick at all. The major public health threat is in pregnant women. If it weren't for that then I doubt there would be such a strong vaccination program. The infection is far less severe than the flu.

Good luck @lmc! You're correct that the risk is probably very, very low. And yes, it would be best if the repeat test is higher!

Good luck @lmc! You're correct that the risk is probably very, very low. And yes, it would be best if the repeat test is higher! Do you know a lot about this test? Does it mean anything that I was the highest number possible in "equivocal"? I feel like I would be way more concerned if I was 9 or below, which is a definite negative immunity, but does being at the top of equivocal mean anything? I don't know about this test specifically, but in general this type of test measures the level of antibodies you have in your blood against the virus. It's common if you were vaccinated a long time ago to gradually lose some immunity over time, which causes the antibody levels to be lower. That's probably what's going on. This is rapidly fixed by a booster shot.

Hugs LMC. One thing about IVF is that there is a LOT of waiting to start cycling. And a LOT of testing. it all seems unnecessary but these folks try to do everything they can upfront to make sure that you will get pregnant AND have a healthy baby to take home. It can be extremely frustrating and trying. Hang in there as best you can and just think - you can drink wine this holiday! (Because once you start a cycle and are on meds no more alcohol)
