Guys how the hell do I get through this? I'm in a constant state of panic. Every little cramp. And I've been having quite a few. I'm convincing myself that I'm seeing spotting, but only on the tp. Now I've convinced myself that my boobs hurt less today. I'm so tired but I can't stay asleep. I'm terrified something is going to happen. Hugs. I was the same way. I was petrified my entire pregnancy that something would go wrong. Heck - little man is 12 weeks old and I still can't believe he is here and healthy and I worry constantly. Part of that is the fact that I have anxiety - and am just wired to worry. But I'm sure another part is due to having struggled with infertility and having to go through IVF to *get* pregnant. Like it was sort of surreal after so many months of disappointment. Try to enjoy being pregnant RIGHT NOW. That's probably the best advice I was given and the best advice I can give. And many hugs. This feeling isn't abnormal.

LMC - ((hugs)) make sure you are taking your anxiety meds is the only thing I can tell you. As much as i complain about my boobs hurting, its not always every day that they hurt.

I'm unmedicated I was worried about getting hooked on the "take it as you need it" pill and the take every day ones made me physically sick
So I'm just trying to stay calm. I'm really glad it's almost the weekend.

Sorry I thought you were on meds. * Drink some calming tea. * that sounds bad. I want to clarify that I take medicine for anxiety but I know some people don't. Sorry if the above offends anyone.

Oh no, it didn't even cross my mind that it sounded bad, promise. I googled to make sure, and it looks like commercially-made mint herbal tea is OK, so I'll be drinking lots of that. After my one allowed caffeinated tea, of course

My mom is now losing her shit over Zika virus and wants me to find out every possible insect repellant I can slather myself in without risking harm to the baby.
Never mind that a) I work inside all day b) it's cold out now, even for FL- mosquitos are very uncommon c) DH got the treadmill fixed so it doesn't trip, so I can walk indoors and d) our schedules are not allowing for us to go hiking in the woods or swamps any time before the baby arrives, thus significantly mitigating my chances.
Oh, and let's ignore the part where I haven't and cannot travel to any of the locations where there are Zika virus outbreaks, which is how those cases appearing in the U.S. are cropping up....

DH is already talking about how he needs to get someone in to spray for mosquitos in our yard as soon as it starts to get warm out. In his defense, I always get bit by 10000 bugs. Good excuse to stay inside?
Someone on the TTTC board said she has a trip planned to Mexico for what would be likely between her beta and ultrasound. NOPE. Cancel. Immediately. Even if it didn't work that time, I feel like I still wouldn't go. Maybe I'm paranoid, but women in those countries are being warned not to get pregnant for like 2 years. I don't know how this virus works or how long it could be in your system undetected.

Ps - Thanks again for talking me down. I feel much better and my cramping has largely gone away. Also I'm glad I wore a long, flowy shirt today because my pants are totally undone.
Also is it too early for TMIs? I am feeling... not dry. I keep thinking it's spotting or something, but turns out it's not. It also makes me feel like I have to pee every 20 minutes.

chipmunk - I just saw someone on babycenter say the news stated there is a few cases in her area. But so far any of the cases that are cropping up in the us are like what you said from people traveling to countries where its zika has been found and coming back. I would be more concerned if I was travelling in those countries or if it was fall or summer.

It is never too early for TMIs here. I am reminded of a SomeECard I saw on Pinterest, where the mother observes her children calling something she did "eeewww." She responds on how she gave birth to them, covered in blood, fluids, and other things- basically, the child is "eeww."
Feeling "not dry" is normal too, especially as you'll be increasing your water intake. As for the feeling of needing to pee every 20 minutes....better get used to it

If I was pregnant, zika would scare the crap out of me. I understand that the mosquitoes that can carry it can't survive further north than the US Gulf Coast but still. Nope. That is terrifying. Aaaand I'm in the Gulf Coast area. But like I said, I'm an indoor girl, and this is definitely not mosquito season here (needs to be consistently another 15- 20 degrees warmer each day). But when I have my appointment on the 10th, I'll ask my doctor about which products I can use.

That TMI was my entire pregnancy with N. It's...not pleasant. I have zero advice to manage it, but I hope it goes away! It's so gross. It's just all of a sudden I'll feel like I need to clench. Oh yuck. And then I run to pee terrified that it's going to be spotting. Nope. Just... wetness. Ew.

Also I love that I have everyone saying "not dryness" because saying that I felt.. wet.. just felt even more gross. haha
I am in fear for how many times I will likely pee my pants near the end.

Otherwise, if I sneeze.....well, my one pair of work pants that were still wearable got an extra trip to the dry cleaners when that first happened....

LMC - I cannot remember the last time I haven't worn a panty liner. But the 2nd trimester is great. All of the grossness is gone for awhile and you have engery. Oh and I have peeed my pants. Its gross. I don't do the laundry but I know its so gross that I prewash it all for H by hand. He doesn't ask me to, it just makes me feel better.

I seem to be missing out on the whole excess discharge thing. I'm usually the opposite and it's doing absolutely nothing for my sex life (and my growing belly isn't helping along those lines either).

Also, I went to an academic/ public health lecture on Zika virus this morning. It was very interesting. I do think we have a reason to be concerned, but I also think it may be being over-hyped purely out of excess caution. The link between the infection and microcephaly is circumstantial at this point, and definitely not proven. I don't think there's a reason to be concerned in the continental U.S. yet, though the possibility of it spreading northward into the Gulf states over the next few years is definitely real. But I'm glad that a massive effort is underway to develop a vaccine and I would not be surprised if vaccination for women of childbearing age becomes a routine part of clinical care if the link w/ microcephaly is solidified.
All this being said, DH and I were planning on taking a babymoon to the Virgin Islands, but we've cancelled those plans. The CDC is usually very conservative, and I tend to take their recommendations seriously.
