WTF, susanm? What a ridiculous and unreasonable request.

susanm - I could see asking you, but wtf about using the guilt trip and being upset that you would not go. That is just rude and immature. I agree with PP it doesn't hurt to see if your doctor will do some blood work this month. I know my basic blood for the first round of testing before they would have done the dye test when I was having issues ttc were covered by insurance via going towards the deductible, but everyone's insurance is different. Which for my doctor was Progesterone, Free T4, and TSH.

susanm bah, your sister can make her own way to her appointment. Glad to hear you called your doctor! I'm with you... sometimes it just makes me feel better to know I have a plan in place. But I'm also hoping this is your month and it will all be a mute point!

susanm - Some of the blood work I took had to be between a certain time in one's cycle (sorry I do not recall when it had to be), so maybe that is why they are not having you do any of the blood work before the appointment.

I also realize we've only been trying 5 months and not a year or years and that this may all be for nothing and I could get pregnant this month. I appreciate all the support from all of you ladies not just today, but always. And for putting up with the crazy Hey I wanted to start getting tested earlier due to being 33 (now I am 34). I was like I am almost 35. I knew we could not do IVF, but I wanted to make sure nothing was wrong.

susanm I'm sorry, that sounds like a frustrating set of telephone exchanges. I think it makes sense to go talk with the doctor before doing the blood work though. Some of the studies that they may order are routine, but I suspect she may want discuss things with you first because that will direct what type of work-up she suggests. They may not order anything until next cycle anyway. I understand where you're coming from though - sometimes it's so easy to get caught up TTC and every week seems precious because we don't want to "waste" any cycles. I'm not sure that the doctors see it that way because it's all so routine for them.

It's never bad to get started on it, because if there is an issue, there are a lot of tests to go through. As far as the bloodwork goes, snippet17 is right. Most of it is time sensitive, including progesterone, LH, etc. I spoke with my doctor before getting any of that done, and they'll likely need to know your schedule before they can tell you when to go.

Oh trust me, susanm - I get it. Once you decide that you want the answers, you want them YESTERDAY. It's a tough ride. <3 The nurse definitely should have explained it better.

I originally had only called to talk to the doctor to see what she even suggested. It snowballed from there based on the conversation with the nurse. I am calmer today. We'll see what happens next week. I'm still hoping it'll happen this month on its own.me too!! Fingers crossed!

susanm - I am happy she is having you do some testing now. Is she going to send the script for the AMH blood test to a lab?

susanm - I am happy she is having you do some testing now. Is she going to send the script for the AMH blood test to a lab? Her nurse said they had called it in, I assume to the lab. We use Quest labs here. ETA it was a voice mail. That is good. My doctor is in the hospital so I use that lab.
