Wooo, snippet17 had her little one!! While we eagerly await photos... 1) how far along are you? 2) symptoms, complaints, aw moments, etc? 3) what is your favorite early spring treat? (Ie, a particular dessert, dish, easter candy, etc, that you wait all winter to enjoy again in the spring)

1) 29 weeks, 2 days 2) the random vibrations I've been feeling are apparently hiccups. Getting comfortable in bed is increasing in level of difficulty, and my low back continues to ache. 3) local strawberries and chocolate covered marshmallow eggs

I'm 28 weeks tomorrow, officially in 3rd trimester now! Shit, how did that happen?!?
Baby and I are going through a growth spurt. I gained 5 pounds and at least that many inches this week. I'm really, really hoping it doesn't keep up at this pace!!!
I'd agree with strawberries, but they're really more of an early summer thing around here. By May we should have sugar snap peas and asparagus though - I always look forward to those!!! This week, in honor of St. Patrick, I am following a long-standing tradition of making homemade corned beef. I bought a brisket this weekend and it's currently sitting in my fridge dry-brining with a magical secret recipe of spices. It will be cooked on Thursday, in traditional New England style, with cabbage, potatoes, and carrots. Then we will have leftover corned beef hash all weekend. Yum!

@sarahufl you sure do know how to pull off the va-va-VOOM pregnant lady look! From that photo you'd think you'd be immune to all the un-glamorous joys of pregnancy, but thanks anyway for cracking me up with the "poop or contraction" game.

1) how far along are you? 6 weeks
2) symptoms, complaints, aw moments, etc? just super nauseous and sore boobs, but other than that all good. These next two weeks will be torture until my first appointment. I just want to know for sure this is happening. I feel like I cannot be excited until I get that confirmation. I am debating if I am going to tell my parents when I see them on Thursday. I think I will just because I want to do it in person and its rare that I get to see them, but I am nervous to tell anybody. Only one of my best friends knows right now (besides H of course). and I don't know how long I will be able to avoid the "why aren't you drinking" convo.
3) what is your favorite early spring treat? (Ie, a particular dessert, dish, easter candy, etc, that you wait all winter to enjoy again in the spring): CADBURRY EGGS

Sent in my official "I've submitted my FMLA paperwork and am requesting 12 weeks of sick/vacation leave for the following approximate time frame pursuant to office policy" email to supervisors. Supervisors knew it was coming. Supervisors approved

DH was being adorable last night. He comes to bed later than I do, and I'm generally asleep when he does. Last night, I was on my side, facing towards him, with half the covers off and my shirt riding up above my baby belly (according to him). I woke up to his giggling and a hand on the side of my belly. Apparently when he came to bed, he saw an opportunity with my shirt up, and was feeling Chipmunchkin move around under his hand. He had also been humming quietly to her and kissing my stomach, whispering to her in an effort not to disturb me. The giggles were due to his happiness and excitement in feeling her move. I woke up due to my bladder, but I'm glad he got to have that experience- most movements lately have just resulted in a jiggle or vibration across the belly; she's too big for full arm/leg extensions, but not yet big enough for a little hand, foot, elbow, or knee to poke out/tent my skin. She also tends to be pretty relaxed and quiet around him, so he doesn't get to feel her moving around as much.
