I forgot a lot of times for most this.
As I said last week my induction was scheduled at 1:15am, but I got a call at 12:30 am am saying to come in later. We were told to be there around 7:00am. By the time we go checked in by the ER and l&d we started the induction around 7:45 am. They started with the fully ball (could be wrong with that name) to get me dilated to 3cm. It happened quicker than usual since when the nurse checked on it to just tug on the ball it fell out. They did give me a small amount of pitocin, but not much since I had contractions pretty quickly.
The first pain medicine I used made me feel drunk and I enjoyed it a lot. DH even said I was slurring some of my words. But that pain medicine only last an hour at a time. When that started wearing off at I got the epi around 12:30 pm. After the epi was in and I was laying back down I told the nurse I think either my water broke or peed. My water indeed broke and we got to see the baby's poop. Two other patients water broke within 15 minutes of me, too, and theirs were done naturally. My nurse put a peanut ball between my legs so help stretch the pelvis. At 3:30 pm I was at 10 cm dilated. But I did not feel the need to push, so they let me wait for a while to push. Had me start around 6:30. She arrived at 9:11 pm. She was even a fighter when she got her vitamin K right after birth and didn't want to cry.
H did not like how much he had to be involved and how much he saw. He planned to stay by my head. He ended up holding my left leg for the pushes and ended up seeing me push out the placenta and me getting stitched up a bit. Two NICU nurses had to see her since she pooped inside of me so H was with them and that he how he saw some of that.
Not sure how many stitches, but there were not many. It was all first or second degree tears. There was one small tear that they could not stitch, but it does not burn for me to pee or poop (yep, I pooped twice today and it was pain free, but I am still taking stoll softeners) so it couldn't have been too bad.
She loves her binky, She loves to have her arms free so she can suck on on her hands. Oh and she prefers to sleep on her right side. We put her on her back in her crib or pack-n-play but she turns to her right side. H thinks she will put on her stomach by Friday.
TMI, the reason I have been logged in for so long and it took forever to post is due to still having a lingering cough from the flu. Which still makes me have to pee.
I will post some pictures and name in the next post. Feel free to ask questions. I may have missed something.
