1) 39 weeks, 2 days. This is hopefully my last time starting the weekly thread with this pregnancy. 2) I'm ready to meet my little girl, as is DH. I'm also ready to be able to lie on my back again, hahaha. Aside from heartburn and swollen ankles, my main symptom is just feeling like the skin of my belly could split at any time. No contractions yet though. 3) Have a baby! Seriously, I'm due Saturday, have an appointment Friday morning, and I'm going to insist an induction by Saturday morning- I do not want to spend the three day weekend being twitchy over whether Chipmunchkin is coming or not, and I definitely don't want to be trying to get to the hospital when all the crazies and drunks are out on the roads this weekend. 4) I did plenty of walking around yesterday, but my old low back injury has been flaring up a bit, resulting in a constant band of ache and pain between my hips- had this before, so I know it's not contractions. I'll walk as much as I can, do squats, etc, but if I'm hurting, I need to take a few and rest my back. I baked brownies and cookies yesterday, but don't have cake supplies. My house is fairly well cleaned, and I've been eating Mexican and buffalo chicken dip since Saturday. I'm eyeing the bottles of hot sauce and wondering what they'd taste like mixed together and drunk straight. DH and I were intimate Friday, but perhaps more is needed? I'm down for that! I'm not big into needles, so acupuncture isn't happening. DH has given me some foot rubs recently, part to relieve discomfort and part to help stimulate things, but so far, nothing doing.

chipmunk - I ate Tex mex at least three times a week at the one restaurant by my house the last few weeks of my pregnancy. Do you have a breast pump? I heard that can help start contractions for some people.

chipmunk - I ate Tex mex at least three times a week at the one restaurant by my house the last few weeks of my pregnancy. Do you have a breast pump? I heard that can help start contractions for some people. I have a crap load of taco stuff and buffalo dip in the house, plus DH is a hot sauce fiend, so we've a gift set of 7 different tabasco sauces that hasn't even been opened yet, plus the stuff in the spice cabinet. My only problem with this is food in general and spicy stuff in particular has been giving me terrible, nauseating heartburn, so I've been circumspect about it. I might say screw it and go to chipotle for lunch anyways.
I do have a pump, but I was told to not use it until I've been actively nursing for 3 weeks so as not to screw up my body/milk production.....I did read somewhere that just general nipple stimulation, without pumping, can help too....

I would not be worried about using a pump for nipple stimulation to induce labor. You don't need to worry about your milk supply and pumping until after baby is born. I tried all the old wives tales. None of them worked. Both girls were born within an hour of when I was scheduled to be induced (and I wasn't induced with either lol). Lesson: babies troll. Same here. None of the old wives tales worked for me. I am still not sure if I actually ever felt contractions.

1. 16 weeks
2. I had crazy round ligament pain this morning, but it eventually eased up. Usually it was just a little pinch but it took me a good half hour for it to ease up today. I don't think I drank as much water yesterday as I typically do so I am assuming that is what caused it. Then I got a whiff of something this morning while making breakfast that did not agree with my stomach so I got sick. I had a whole week of no morning sickness so I am assuming it was just the smell that got me today. Other than my rough morning I've been feeling pretty good lately. Having more bouts of energy here and there too. And I am enjoying my little bump that is slowly starting to show. I have not taken any bump pics yet though. Maybe this week I will so I can start to see the progression. I have an appointment next week as a check in and we are going to schedule my gender ultrasound so I am very excited for that.
3. Holiday plans are still up in the air. We may go visit my parents and help them move some furniture (well H would be moving furniture, not me). Their house goes on the market June 11th so my mom is totally stressing out now. They have to move some stuff out in order for the realtor to stage the house and with my dads back injury last year he cannot do it. Hopefully my brother can come down to help too. I am excited for them to move, but it will be weird to see the house up for sale and the reality that it will actually not be theirs anymore in a few weeks. If we don't help down there, we will just stay local and lay low. Either way, looking forward to a 3-day weekend.
4. No idea yet. I am honestly still scared thinking about how a baby is even going to come out of me in a few months.

Surprise! I'm now a graduate of this board. I'll post a birth story on the Kids board eventually (been a little busy...) but baby Ian was born yesterday morning after a swift and unexpected labor at 37w3d. He's a tiny guy - 5lb 8oz, 19.5 in. We're doing well!

Late to the post because I was traveling but here it is: 1) How far along are you?
6-7-ish weeks 2) Symptoms, complaints, compliments, bump photos? The constipation struggle is real and it SUCKS 3) What are your plans for the holiday weekend coming up?
To relax. Maybe help DH work on the new house. 4) What activity might you engage in to encourage labor/what do you think might actually work? (ie, walking/exercise, sex, baking a cake, cleaning, eating spicy food, acupuncture, etc) No clue. Everything's been different this go around than the last so I have no idea what to expect or try.

lovefuzzies, @daubachsgirl23 saved my life in the 1st trimester with the colace recommendation. It felt sooo goood afterwards, lol. Cautionary tale with the metamucil (not that I think anyone here would be this boneheaded).....my DH has occasional issues going, and figured increased fiber intake would help. He got the coscto brand of fiber powder. Two weeks later (this past March) I had to rush his butt to the ER with severe burning pain in his abdomen (he never complains, stubborn ass Marine, and if he says he needs to go to the ER, he's probably dying)....nope, he had a massive amount of inflammation. How did this inflammation occur? Well, to start, rather than doing the 1 teaspoon up to 3 times per day mixed in water, he did a huge, heaping tablespoon of the stuff (probably more like 3.5 tablespoons worth) once per day. Oh, and he didn't mix with water- nope, he mixed it with Orange Juice. (cue my thunking my head on the counter). I had to explain to him that he'd basically treated his stomach and small intestines to a 3 week sandpaper scrub session, and threw acid on the tissue post scrubbing. He now gets it, and hasn't pulled that stunt again. Costco also makes fiber gummies. He's had success with those, and I've found them helpful too when I'm out of colace and don't want to drink metamucil.

Good luck lovefuzzies !! I had AWFUL constipation through my entire pregnancy with Norah. TMI but yeah. It was awful. Pro tip: if you take Metamucil or anything else with psyllium fiber in it, make sure to take it with AT LEAST 8oz of water. If you don't dilute it well, psyllium actually worsens constipation. QFT. See above with my DH. Poor man couldn't eat spicy food for a week afterwards, and this guy has an entire shelf in the cabinet dedicated to hot sauces, hot chili oils, and dried pepper varieties.

lovefuzzies - talk to your doctor about being constipation. Even if its just via a phone call. Mine sent a script in for me. I was getting medicine similar to Metamucil for free due to my insurance. I had to still buy colace over the counter but your insurance may cover it.

OMG I'm rolling with all these stories you guys are providing. I'm so sorry, they're not funny but OMG... Then here's another one for ya....back in my 1st trimester, my mom came down to visit us while my dad was out of town unexpectedly. We'd had previous plans to go with friends to a comedy show. Mom was fine with not coming, said she'd enjoy having control over the tv remote and spending time with our kitties. Talking to her the next morning....seems she got hungry post dinner, and went to the pantry for a snack. She found our big stash of granola bars. Said they were so good, she ended up having 5 over the course of 2 hours..... What she didn't realize, these were Fiber One granola bars. She'd never had them before. Plus, my Mom had belly surgery 45 ish years ago, resulting in a bowel resection due to Crohn's disease. Poor woman was up all night running for the bathroom. She likes the Fiber One brand now, post proper introduction to it, but she's never made that mistake again!
