And I'm too tired to alliterate.
I think fall is here for real now. It was 54 when I woke up, and it's supposed to get cooler all day, getting near freezing overnight. Even more fun, fall allergies are here! My sinuses are completely blocked.
My first draft of my promotion and tenure paperwork is due tomorrow. I'm meeting with my supervisor later this morning to go over it again, so I'll probably spend the afternoon working on revisions. I'm out a little early this afternoon for my annual mole check. I'm hoping it will be uneventful, and I can maybe go home and take a short nap.
How are you all doing today?

I took off today since DH is out of town today and tomorrow. It is just sometimes easier this way instead of having a grandmother watch her. Daycare might be close to DH's work but it is 30 minutes the opposite way from work for me so its this or grandmothers. Anyways I am beat! I wanted to walk around the mall this morning since its chilly out but I don't feel like loading my car up. Maybe I will take T for a stroller ride after afternoon snack or we may do a snack on the go since the stroller has cup holders. Good news DH's company is in the next round of the grant process. Not sure how many other locations were told the same or even if the othet agency they are working with got to the next round or not either. Good luck with the tenure and promotion efmcc67

That sounds like a busy day, efmcc67 . I hope the meeting and mole check go well. Sorry about your allergies. It's fall-like here today too. It's making me very sleepy. My boss is out with the flu, which reminds me that I need to get my flu shot this year. Thankfully we have a nurse in the office who does them for free.

Sounds like a busy day efmcc67! Hopefully you don’t have too many modifications to make after the meeting with your supervisor. I also really need to get a flu shot eba1012. You’d think after all the needles I needed during pregnancy/postpartum that I’d be over my fear. NOPE. Still dreading it. The weather here is all over the place. It’s right around freezing right now, but it’s supposed to get up to 17C/62F. I might try going for a walk later today. H and I have started to put together a list of dinners that are nutritious and can be made in half an hour. We’re having a hard time. I find most recipes online under estimate how long it takes, so we can’t just go off of that. If anyone has any recipes they like, please share!

I'm exhausted! Both kids ended up in our bed and D didn't settle down til almost 6. I had to get him up for school, but he was in a good mood when he left.

I never got the flu shot before, but now with E I can’t not get it. Thanks for those! I’ll have to take a look!

Thanks everyone for the reminder on the flu shot. I haven't gotten it and T only got the first round.

ravenclanna I JUST posted this in a mom's group I'm in on fb: I have pork tacos in the crockpot right now, super easy and delicious. 1 jar of roasted salsa, 1 pork roast, 1 can of whole green chilies (or you can roast and peel and seed fresh anaheims/hatch/poblanos; I use whole hatch that we roast and freeze when they're in season every year). Pour in a little salsa on the bottom of the crock, then the roast, then lay the peppers out flat on top of the roast and cover with more salsa. Cook on low 8 hours. Shred everything and serve with corn tortillas, onion, cilantro, and avocado. I know it's not super healthy, and has no green veggies, but I wouldn't call it UNhealthy. Sometimes i make burrito bowls with the leftovers, instead of tacos.

Ok I've seen that honey sesame chicken recommended so many times and I haven't tried it yet because H doesn't like ketchup. Does the finished product have a ketchup-y taste or can I trick him into eating it?

SIL just texted me that she was involved in an armed robbery at an ATT store yesterday. Everyone is fine, and nothing was stolen from her personally, but there were no security cameras and the guys got away before the cops arrived. A few months ago H's parents and aunt and uncle were also involved in an armed robbery, while eating in a restaurant. His uncle refused to hand over his wallet and had a gun to his head but ultimately the guys got distracted by a hostess running out the door, and left. SIL and FBIL had recommended the restaurant and decided at the last minute not to go with them that night and now it's like final destination.

I agree - I don't think it's ketchup-y at all, but I also like ketchup. G loves the honey sesame chicken, but isn't the hugest fan of ketchup. She's also 4, so take that for what it's worth LOL
