Thanks, ladies. I wish I could say that this was the first time something like this had happened in my family. My mother has no boundaries. At all. I think I told you all the story before of the time that my brother gave his old, used(!) boxers as a hand-me-down to our cousin, and no one in my family but me understood why this is a problem! My family is crazy. Adding in the honeymoon factor, it's just sooooo creepy.

It is freezing here. I have today and tomorrow off. A little bit of holiday drama but it could have been worse. My husband's grandmother was pissed that SIL was running late and how she was acting with her new boyfriend. I dont think she wanted SIL's boyfriend at her house, but she won't say anything. Plus H's aunt and uncle had a fight before we got there so tension was between them. I was good until we were leaving and FIL "joked" about MIL wanting to kidnap DD. His joke was a major fail and I out right said I would call the police if that ever happened. I didn't even realize he was joking until DH said it was in the car. Sorry but kidnapping is not a joke with me. My family just loved to gossip while we were there. And my mom made a snarky remark about me being upset for no reason. Well one you hogged my child most of the time we were at GiGi's (except when you were bad mouthing another family member) and there is 13 other people there. And I was in a bad mood since we haven't opened gifts and it was 715 and we said we were leaving at 730. My poor cousin was trying to leave before us still didn't leave. I wished we had room in our car to drive him home, but we didn't. Sorry T just woke up from a nap so I can't catch up much. efmcc67 - OMG,. wtf why would she regift that. Burn it. I am all about keeping certain items, but that is just a big nope.

I'm tired and cranky and I have a headache. I think H is going to bear the brunt of my crankiness, since he can't be bothered to answer important text messages.
ETA: He's off today and is just sitting around the apartment.

eba1012 , I hate that! I hope he starts responding soon. He's infuriating. I sent my original text at 9am. He has only sent me joking gifs thus far. I might need bail money.

Good afternoon, ladies. I am off for the week! We only got a little snow, about an inch, just enough for a white Christmas. It is cold here, too, highs <20. I mean, it's over 0, so it could be worse, but by far the coldest weather we've had this year. ass, I'm glad YH will be home tomorrow! sunshine, you're getting so close! eba1012, I hope Pico's appointment goes well tomorrow. I am trying to decide what to do with a present from my mother. It's an ankle-length, shapeless nylon nightgown. If this weren't bad enough, it is from my parents' honeymoon!!! Regifting your child used sleepwear from your own honeymoon, nearly 40 years later, seems bonkers to me. However, I'm apparently supposed to treasure this forever because it was a gift from my grandmother to my mother, and, as far as my family's concerned, "It's from Nana!!!" is an excuse to keep every damn thing. I don't know what to do with it. Do I give it back to my mother with apologies? Donate it without saying anything? Throw it in the trash, because it's a nightgown from the 70s? Bury it in my closet and try to forget that it exists? have a bonfire with it. I'll bring s'mores

I've got a big back yard and neighbors who mind their own business. Hell, a couple of them would join in, no questions asked.

efmcc67 I was going to say trash the nightgown because I don't have a sentimental bone in my body and Wtf. But I'm on board with the bonfire plan. I'll make marshmallows for the smores! Today was xmas with my family. Overall it was good, but I was mentally prepared to leave at 4 and we hadn't eaten dessert left. I was probably not very pleasant for the last hour or so. I'm home now and exhausted. And tomorrow is back to the office.

FUCK. Our cat is sick, guys. He vomited earlier this afternoon. I didn't think much of it, but when dinnertime rolled around and he wasn't begging for food like usual, I was like, "fuck." He was sitting under our Christmas tree and was breathing fast and refused all of the food that I put in front of him. He's staying overnight at the cat hospital because they think he's having an asthma attack Fingers crossed that's all it is - they were concerned about heart failure at one point and that shit's got a really poor prognosis. H is so upset and was crying earlier. I really hope that they can fix him. They basically took him from me and ran him back to be treated when I walked up to the desk and told them how fast he was breathing.

chairmanmiao, sending healing thoughts to your kitty. My cousin's cat had an asthma attack the other day and she said it was really scary, but the kitty has a good prognosis. I hope kitty chairmanmiao and your family have a similar experience.
