I figure we might as well have an equal opportunity thread for boy names. Only one week now till I find out baby kwith's sex! We already have a boy name picked out (Benjamin), but feel free to jump in with other boy names you love, names to avoid since they're overused or have bad nicknamed, etc.

I grew up in Louisiana, so I love Remy and Chance both, but I think Remy is a little effeminate sounding to make a kid go through elementary school with, and Chance is one of those names that just sounds too modern and trendy.
I think I'm going to make a ridiculous old lady with my name, because it's also kind of cute and trendy. I don't want to do that to my kid.

We will be using Atlas as our first son's middle name because it's a family name on H's side. I really like that name.

I know what you mean - I'm in my mid 20s and already feel too old for my name. I like Max a lot. FI loves Kosmo, but that's definitely not happening. We will for sure be avoiding all two syllable names ending in "-en." Right now in elementary schools I'm seeing a ton of kids named Ayden, Kaden, Jayden, Hayden, etc.

Dominic is my son's name. We also were thinking of Oliver. Other names I like are Connor, Ethan, Dexter, Gabriel (Gabe), Trevor, Lucas.

I love the name Christian so does FI but by the time we get to having kids the 50 Shades Of Grey movie will be out and everyone will be asking we named him after the stupid movie. I also love Aidan Noah Jonah Joshua I also really love Desmond. I blame Lost on that last one.

Not sure about first names, but we plan on using Lawrence as a middle name. It's FI's middle name and my dad's first name. I haven't really thought too much about boy names. I like Liam; other than that, I don't have a clue what I like. My SIL says if her baby is a boy, they will name him William and call him Liam. I think it's too cutesy as an actual first name.

Is that an ethnic name? If not it's a little too celebrity kreAtiv for me.

We have dorky boy names. Wade and Jakob for boys. And no, we are not being trendy with the "k", that is the German spelling.
I feel like with boys, you have to find a name that fits for a child to a grown man, which can be trickier than with a daughter's name.

We have talked this out for so long. It took months to find a name for the dog. H kept making weird suggestions like Clever McFancypants.
H's first name is Benjamin, which I love, so I'm partial to that. He hates it, though, and has always gone by his middle name. I like John since it's my dad's first name (not what he goes by) and h's dad's middle name ( and the English version of my great grandfather's name)
We also both like: Xavier Micah Evan Finnegan (Finn) Zachary David

For me, boys names are so much harder than girls. FI really wants the name Satchel for a boy, but I just can't do it. He wants the middle name to be Oliver so he'll have the initials SOB. NOT gonna happen.
Names I like include: Daniel Matthew Benjamin Patrick Christopher

Wesley is the boy's name we have picked, and I've been toying with Stag as a middle name.

It's a variation of my maiden name. Plus, with middle names I think we have a little more freedom to use unusual things we like without causing trouble for the kid.

Our first boy will be James. FI is a third, so we'll be having a James the fourth I've requested that we keep it as James though. FI's dad is Jim, people closest to FI call him Jimmy, so I want to keep our baby as James, no nickname. I don't really like nicknames, to be honest. My parents named my brother and I so that there is no shortened version of our names. I like that. Plus, James is my father's middle name so I am doubly pleased. Boy #2? Maybe something Irish, but I don't want to go too crazy. I've always loved Cillian, but I know people will screw it up. And people may not be familiar with it, and I don't want them to think I made a name up for my kid. I'm going to name my kid Winston with the hope that he comes out of the womb as a grumpy old man. Edit: Our actual likely Boy #2 (if we have one) names are Charles or Henry. But if someone calls my kid Chuck or Hank, there will be fire. My H is a James IV in his family! And they're all still alive, so it gets confusing. I don't think I would have wanted to James V for our son, so I was glad that he was willing to break the tradition. I think once you get above IV it starts to feel like a royal dynasty doomed to failure, but he's liked being the fourth.

LMC, the nickname thing definitely gets confusing. The oldest James is usually just "Pop" now, then Jimmy, then Jim, then mine who I call James, but whose family calls either Little Jimmy or Ivy (because of IV). It's not a huge deal, except H's dad is not the most responsible person and we semi-frequently get either debt collector calls for him or have things added to our credit report because they share the name. All easily cleared up, but a bit annoying.

I love the name Alexander but my BIL is Alex so H didn't like it. Our son's name is Anthony Guillermo his middle name is after my Husband's late grandfather. We didn't want to name them after our father's because they're both Jose and I don't like it. I liked Jordan, Xavier (which is now my nephew's name), Andrew, Daniel, Benjamin and I know there's more I just can't remember them. Benjamin was on the top of my list but H's uncle and cousin are Ben's.
