I have a name for you guys that I don't know how I feel about. It was overheard at my hair appointment, so spelling is a guess. Linsley That's Linz-lee, right? *shudder* Might as well name your kid Assley, Stachey, or Gweg.

Is it too late to change my T's middle name?!? I have a feeling people may eventually smash her name and her middle name (Lee) together. I know Lee is very meaningful to me, but these people make it so hard.

Could you change her first name to something that would result in 'Lee' being her nickname?

Could you change her first name to something that would result in 'Lee' being her nickname? I wouldn't want her to be called Lee. We typically don't ever call her by her middle name. I might be over thinking it since I am tried from my shift change this week. Working until 1:30/2 sucks

It sounds like you're overthinking this to me, but you can change her middle name if you want. As T ages, she's going to figure out what she wants to be called - T, Lee, or something else. Your preference as her mom will only go so far.

snippet17, I agree with the others. It's not too late to change her name, but you might also be overthinking. With T's name, it doesn't seem too likely that people will put the names together. If her name were something like Anne Marie, this could be a concern, but T__ Lee isn't something you see very often. In addition, people don't often know another person's middle name unless they ask. I guess one exception might be school, if they print first and middle name on attendance lists, but you could probably address that with the teacher in advance. If you'd feel better changing her middle name, of course you can do that, but I'd weigh it against the time and court expense that would be involved. And as ven pointed it, she could decide to go by something completely different when she's older. (My grandmother calls my father Larry, but no one else in the world does.)
