I had a good and pretty active weekend. Nice work meeting your step goal @bellaluna. I also saw a small gain this week, I'm not sweating it but it is a reminder that I must plan and prepare because when I don't I'm not good at making the best food choices.
I went to crossfit on Saturday, then H and I started building a fence. I spent most of Saturday and Sunday working on the fence. Saturday night we went to a cooking class with some of our friends from crossfit. It was awesome but I consumed too much wine.

Morning everyone! My grandmother passed away last week, so the weekend and the whole week before were a bit of a wash, GIS-wise. I did get out for a hike on Sunday with the dog (and to enjoy the beautiful weather!). Most of the Easter chocolate I got last weekend is now gone - I didn't space it out like I should have, but on the other hand it's gone so I can start the week without that temptation! Food is planned out for the week now, and I'm excited to start a crossfit foundations course that I got a groupon for with a friend. I also signed up for a 50k bike race at the end of May, so I have to start training for that! Nice work getting in your steps bellaluna! NonosG - are you putting in your own fence? I'd love to hear about the process - H and I want to fence in the backyard (most of it is already fenced - we just need to close it in at the sides of the house) but we were quoted a ridiculous price by a company, so were thinking about doing it ourselves too - I'm just a bit nervous!

Blech, Monday. Friday I'm sure I was over, we went to a local place so I wasn't able to enter exact nutrition but definitely over. Saturday and Sunday were good food wise, I was easily under both days even with my wine, but I also didn't truly work out. Saturday I usually do my 5k but I had an appointment for my car and went shopping with my mom- we did get a lot of walking in, I don't have a pedometer but my feet hurt by the time we got home. This week will be challenging because AF is here which always makes me want to eat more. It's like I think food will soothe my cramps from the inside. And I need to be good this week because this weekend is our first anniversary (!!!) and we are going to be in a hotel with lots of wine and restaurant food. bellaluna good job with steps NonosG building a fence sounds like exercise to me, and a cooking class sounds like a blast! jaenella I'm sorry about your grandmother.

jaenella - I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother, sending hugs and lots of good vibes for you. I'm excited to hear what you think of crossfit!!!! And last but not least, the fence.... H and I did the fence together. I think the hardest part is digging the post holes, then making sure things are even and level. We rented a power post hole digger for about $45, it saved us a ton of time. We are only doing a small section of fence for a dog run so we did not cement the posts in the ground, but that's probably not a step you want to skip. Are you trying to match current fencing? What type of fence do you have? I was trying to post a few pics of the fence but tinypic is not cooperating on my phone right now.

@swimmy1988 - What specifically makes you struggle with lunch? Prep time? Cooking for one? Lack of interest in lunch? Not hungry? I might be able to offer better suggestions if I know what makes it a struggle.

I might be able to offer better suggestions if I know what makes it a struggle. Mostly prep time and cooking for one. I like quick and easy lunches but that usually translates to meeting H for lunch so I don't have to figure out what to cook. I mostly eat leftovers, but try to mix them up a little bit from the original meal. For instance I made a pork roast this weekend, so I'm having a pulled pork sandwich for lunch today. And I don't do lunchmeat sandwiches often, but I'll buy a little meat to go with them if I'm already getting cheese for something else, like this week I'm going to try provolone stuffed chicken thighs and the smallest pack of provolone is more than I needed so I also got a bit of turkey from the deli counter and will make a sandwich with that for a day or two. I can't do that all week or I'd get sick of it. I also use Lean Cuisine type meals as fillers in case I don't have anything else or don't want what I brought, and keep a couple on hand to choose from. At home I'll do some snacking for lunch sometimes, like carrots with hummus and avocado on wheat thins.

Thank you everyone. NonosG - the rest of the fence is just black wire fencing - pretty simple(and cheap). We were thinking of renting a post pounder - I'm not sure about pouring cement, but our ground has been pretty soggy this spring so it might be a good idea. It does make me nervous to tackle that ourselves, but we were quoted $1700 to install about 8 foot of fence, which seems way overpriced (probably to cover their time to drive out to us). @swimmy1988 I usually either have leftovers for lunch, or I'll make one big pot of something and portion it out as my lunches for the week. Particular favourites are quinoa tabbouli, falafels, pulled chicken on salad or on sandwiches, taco salad, rice bowls, and soups with bread or crackers. When I make soup I'll double or triple the recipe and freeze individual portions that I can use for lunch in a pinch.

jaenella - Our yard was pretty wet to, the hole digger did a great job but we hit a few tree roots that took a little extra time. I bet you could watch a you tube video on the post digger. It wasn't overly difficult but it took both of us to keep it steady, even though it was only a '1-man' piece of equipment. We are building a wood fence, so I'm not 100% sure the specs for sinking metal posts. Have you priced out the cost of the fence panels and posts? That would give you a better idea of how much you are actually spending on labor vs. materials. ETA: You can use gravel or pea gravel to fill the holes instead of concrete. You might need to check if your city/county has specifications and/or requires a permit. If ours was a permitter fence we would have to get a permit and make sure it meets certain specs.

I often make extra chicken or meat with dinner and then eat it as part of lunch the next day. Or I just eat the whole meal over again. Another thing I like to do when short on time is throw together a few things I think of as snack items - yogurt, a few crackers, some fresh fruit, cheese stick, nuts. I'll look through my Pinterest and see what other stuff I've found useful. I used to make a large batch of some type of salad or one pot type dish and eat it most of the week.
