Posted in the Baby Names- Asshole edition that I had some crazy stories involving my delivery, including my mom's gallbladder getting stripped during the C Section. Here's a good one....and no, I'm not making this up.
During my Mom's hospital stay with me post delivery, the ward nurses brought the wrong baby to my mom's room. Twice.
This wouldn't be super egregious, except for one tiny yet important detail- I was the only white child. Out of 15 newborns in the maternity ward, there was me and 14 black infants. I stood out in a big way.
Even better- the first time it happened, Mom was on the phone with Dad and started screaming and crying hysterically about the wrong baby in the room. Dad thought she was hallucinating due to the pain meds. The second time, Dad was in the room. He was not happy, and told the nurse explicitly that she had brought the wrong infant in, and that this needed to be fixed. Immediately.
