I had no idea about this, even being a PT myself, I had never heard it, my MD shocked me yesterday and I wanted to pass on the FYI because you never know! When taking the antibiotic Levaquin, especially when paired with a steroid (such as Prednisone) which it frequently can be, you are at a much higher risk of achilles tendon rupture. I even googled it with my PT coworkers today to check it out. So, if you ever get put on this med, be careful!

Yeah, my doc asked me what I was doing, because I was saying one of my symptoms of all the illness I've had recently was increased shortness of breath with exercise, but not at rest that was notably more than my baseline. I told him p90x and 30ds and softball were my major activities right now, and he nearly jumped through the roof trying to explain to me why I need to stop right now and for the next 10 days!

I didn't think Levaquin was still being prescribed. I'm allergic to it, so not a worry for me personally, but good to know.
