AKA my AW "still pregnant" thread.
Sigh...
1. How far along are you?
2. Upcoming appointments?
3. Symptoms/Vents/AWs/Questions?
4. What are some must haves for your winter maternity or post partum wardrobe? Any deals or steals?

AKA my AW "still pregnant" thread. Sigh... 1. How far along are you? 2. Upcoming appointments? 3. Symptoms/Vents/AWs/Questions? 4. What are some must haves for your winter maternity or post partum wardrobe? Any deals or steals? Officially overdue today, 40+1 Drs appointment this morning. Hoping to have an eviction date set for next week if he keeps being stubborn. Vents are that my SPD kicked into high gear all of the sudden on Saturday. Walking is painful. Rolling over in bet is excrutiating and so is getting in and out of the car. I'm going to talk to my doc today about this may affect labor because, ugh. I asked for flannel and other button up tunics for Christmas so I can live in those and leggings if I have to go out in public. I saw some at Target but at $25 per it's more than I want to spend. I would think Old Navy would have some too so I'll have to keep looking.

ktmac, I hope the doctor's appointment goes well and the munchkin makes his appearance soon without giving you too much more stubbornness or trouble. 1) 12 weeks, 2 days. Almost done with 1st trimester! What makes it cool for me is it will be on Saturday the 21st....my birthday 2) I've bloodwork and a sono on Wednesday morning. DH is coming to the sono. Last time, the ultrasound just showed our little blob of squishy with a rapidly beating heart. I'm hoping that the image looks more like "tiny baby" for DH's sake- he's super excited, though constantly going on about how "fragile" the first image was. The baby managed to hang on when we were on roller coasters (the week before we found out I was pregnant), it's going to be fine! 3) My vent is that I'm in the chubbier without a bump stage. I already had a belly roll that I wasn't proud of. Now it's poking out more. I look/feel like I've been just eating poorly with no exercise and just getting fat, not growing a person. At least my appetite is mostly back. 4) I'm in Florida, so my winter maternity wardrobe is basically going to be buying some bigger t-shirts, a roomy jacket, and wearing yoga pants. I kinda want to get some better quality sandals though- I've some inexpensive foam and rubber ones for running around which is fine, but I want something that cushions and supports my feet better, like birkenstocks or something. I'm going to the outlets on Black Friday, and there's one with a Modern Motherhood, Bass, and Birkenstock outlet right down the streets. I'll do most of my shopping then, maybe splurge for a dress or skirt to wear.

1. 24w3d 2. Ultrasound to get additional pictures of the heart next week. Bit that is only if I can get off. 3. I need to stop yawning it hurts the stomach. Sometimes coughing does too. The only plus side is at least if it hurts my stomach to cough it usually means I don't have to worry about pee. :/ I hate that pregnancy pants are still too long for me, but I know I will just have to deal with it. 4. For winter clothes my winter jacket that should be here this week. I don't have much room left in my regular jacket. I think the bump finally came or I ate too much cheese and chocolate for my birthday meal yesterday. the top of my belly if finally a little hard and not the usually flabbiness. The bottom is still flabby but I doubt that will go away. I have a feeling I will need to get some compression socks for when I wear my work boots. Any suggestions for these would be awesome! ktmac baby will be here today.

Come on baby ktmac!!!!! 1. How far along are you? 10w6d by O date. I may just start counting by my LMP though, because that's what my OB office is doing and I'm starting to confuse myself. In that case, 10w3d. Not that it makes a difference. 2. Upcoming appointments? I'm seeing a genetic counselor in 30 minutes. Going to have blood drawn for MaterniT21 test. NT scan is scheduled 2 weeks from today. 3. Symptoms/Vents/AWs/Questions? I feel good. In fact, I keep forgetting that I'm pregnant. I had a stressful weekend and had to work like 14+ hours both days in preparation for a big deadline this morning. But now it's all submitted so I have a moment to breathe. 4. What are some must haves for your winter maternity or post partum wardrobe? Any deals or steals? I'm trying to avoid thinking about a maternity wardrobe for as long as I can I'm hoping a lot of my regular wardrobe should get me through most of the winter. I'll probably have to get some pants and leggings eventually, but I have plenty of empire-waisted dresses, blousy tops and sweaters, open cardigans, etc. And my heavy down winter jacket has loads of extra space in it (it's really a size too big).

Honestly I can't remember much of my first three ultrasounds I hope everyone has a better experience compared to mine. I still don't look pregnant and I am at week 24, but everyone is different. Some look pregnant in the first tri while others don't throughout their whole pregnancy.

Everything at my appt was fine. They sent me over for an NST as a standard "you're kid is late" test just to make sure fluid levels and everything are good. This is fine. I don't mind the additional testing but I wish they would have told me about it ahead of time. I had to choose my words very carefully to not freak out my husband, who is at work.

ktmac - I hate when they throw in last minute test like that. I am happy everything looks good. @swimmy1988 - can you check online to look at your results? I know I would prefer to at least see them Jic the doctors forget to call.

@sarahufl, I'm assuming the sono Wednesday will include the nuchal, as my next appointment would be too late for that. My run around sandals are in fact Clarks brand, sporty style, and I don't know if it is just that they are getting worn out or what. My bass strappy sandals are definitely dying, so sandal shopping on Black Friday it is!
I'm not happy with the fact that I just got all my work pants dry cleaned- they are stiff and tight in the waist from the cleaners, much like jeans fresh out of the laundry. Except the longer I'm wearing these pants, I'm not getting the relaxed "give" in the band I normally get after a few hours. Grrr.

Oh, and my other vent: DH is shocked, SHOCKED I tell you! at how expensive giving birth might be for us. I have insurance (BCBS PPO), and we signed up for a medical expense reimbursement account through my work for next year, but I'm still anticipating the probability that we will have a couple grand in hospital expenses for L&D and recovery, on top of the global maternity package with my doctor's office.
DH thinks we shouldn't have to pay more than 2k for everything, tops, including the maternity package which covers my office visits, most of the in office stuff, plus the doctor's services (be it for a natural delivery or a c section) at the hospital for a grand total of $906 USD. I'm trying to find out from the insurance company what our rough estimates might be for the in network hospitals in the area, just so we can plan accordingly, but they are being buttheads about giving me averages of costs information.
Anyone else or their spouse/SO have sticker shock at the potential or actual baby costs?

@sarahufl I'll be thinking of you for your appointments tomorrow!!! Best wishes!! chipmunk I'm having a hard time estimating what our out-of-pocket expenses will be. I talked to my insurance company about this last week because it was open enrollment at work and I wanted to figure out how much to put into my flex spending account. Of course they were totally useless, but from what I can make out I have a $500 deductible (which I'll basically pay this week for my MaterniT21 test) and a $2k out-of-pocket maximum including the deductible and all co-pays. So I'm assuming at the end of it all I'll meet that $2k. I just put the max into my flex account that I could - $2500, because I can also use it for childcare in case there is left over money after childbirth. I'd be curious to know what peoples real experiences have been though.

chipmunk - nope to the sticker shock. I hate to even post what my yearly deductible is or how much H pays a month because its lower than most. Not sure if H's will change for next year or not but they have a really sweet deductible where all of the nonemployees share the same deductible. Example if it stays the same as this year thr baby and I will have a 1,000 deductible and the insurance pays 100% after that. So if I spend $800 and the baby spends $200 we will hit the deductible and not pay anything except for the copays. (I know for many the baby's time in the hospital is not counted towards the mothers deductible). H has a health savings pay at work and where we use a tasc card. He is planning to put the deductible amount for next year on it plus an additional $500 for copays and what insurance doesn't pay for my contacts.

I hate that you guys have to pay to go have a baby. It baffles me every time someone mentions having to pay for medical expenses - Like that MaterniT21 test. I could not imagine. The sucky part is that it totally depends on your insurance, which generally depends on your employer. My whole pregnancy has been "free", nothing out of pocket. Delivery for me should be very minimal - I think there is a $100 copay for anything that involves admission into a hospital.

gingerlady - you more likely will only have to pay the $500 (if ypur deductible is 100% when hit) plus copays for yourself. I would find out how much the baby's deductible will be since that might be different.

If I had my company's insurance I would have a gofundme set up since there is no way in hell I could afford their deductible. Plus I would be spending a few hundred per pay just to cover me with just healthcare while H will be putting in around $110 a month to cover him, baby, and I. Plus that includes eye and dental.

@lolo - I forgot about the estimater. I have highmark which is bcbs. I just tried it out and I was right it would be 1,000.(even for a csection) I had to use H's name since it is free for me this year. I was surprised that mine doesn't have a copay.

I would find out how much the baby's deductible will be since that might be different. This would be nice. I've been told there are no co-pays for prenatal visits, and 10% "co-insurance" for my hospital admission, but I have NO idea what the hospital bill will be. It seems like this could add up to $1.5k quickly and meet my out-of-pocket max. I'll have to see what the newborn care coverage is...

My prenatals have no copay but my first ultrasound visit (but none after) had a copay and so did my appointment with the genetics person. But I know everyone's insurance can be totally different. And then the cost cam be totally different too if the hospital is in network or out of network. The calculater online didn't even have the out of network hospitals on there. Which means to me if I go into labor at a client's location to drive my ass to an in network hospital.

thanks for the tip, @lolo. I was able to get an estimation of typical cost ranges (before application of my insurance) at several local area hospitals in my network for both natural and C-section deliveries. Still looking pricey, but now I've a better idea of dollar figures and my absolute out of pocket global max payment.
