1. How far along are you?
2. How are you feeling? Any complaints?
3. What is your favorite type of girl scout cookie?

1. 40w2d
2. If you saw my post from yesterday I went to the hospital and found out I have the flu. I even had a flu shot this year. They gave me meds to start today and an inhaler since I was having issues breathing. I got a breathing treatment done yesterday too.
3. Thin mints.

Thanks everyone! They told me last night that at least I did get the flu shot. They had a pregnant lady in a few weeks ago who did not get the flu shot and went to the ICU. I have really good insurance through H and the price of my meds were expensive. The inhaler and pills costs $35 a piece. I don't think I have spent more than $10 or $15 on meds before on his insurance. My stole softeners don't even cost me anything when I get that refilled. So the ticket price was very shocking.
H took today off since we did get home late yesterday and to help me out. I am feeling much better due to the breathing treatments, I don't have an appetite which stinks. I would love to loss weight, but not now!
@pandpmeant2b - I hope your back feels better.

Oh no snippet17! I'm so sorry and I hope you feel better soon. It's good to have the diagnosis and get those anti-viral meds into your system before you deliver though. This year's flu shot is only partially effective against one of the strains that is going around, but it does offer some protection so that's good - we don't want anyone ending up in the ICU! I have a former colleague who is 27 weeks pregnant (she and I have the same due date actually!) and she also got the flu last week despite getting the shot. As for me: 26w6d I still feel good! Getting large though... Thin Mints, 100%. OMG where are all the girl scouts this year?!? I haven't seen any! I need my Thin Mints!!!

Oh no, that sounds awful snippet17 ! I hope you feel better soon. Were you able to get Tamiflu? It's a miracle drug in my opinion. Yes, that is what the doctor gave me a script for. I am taking 2 doses a day. I have only taken one dose so far.

Surprise! Looks like I belong here now... BFP yesterday and did one again this morning to confirm. I am in total shock right now. Excited, but kinda terrified. 1. 5 weeks today 2. Nothing I can really pin point at the moment besides my boobs were crazy sore all weekend which ultimately gave me the courage to even test. I was convincing myself it would not be possible this soon and that I was just off since my body was getting used to no BC (I stopped in Dec, had very regular cycles in Jan & Feb... so Surprise! There is still so much unknown but I am just feeling like I need to tell somebody (H of course knows). I told him last night and he took it so well. I was more anxious to tell him to begin with as we always joked I would have to tell his brother & SIL first to help break the news, but luckily he took it like a total champ, which made me feel so much better. I have not had an appetite all weekend but I think that is more from nerves than anything right now. My appointment is at the end of the month. I am still in a fog, and I am still totally second guessing as to if this is real or not. 3. Samoa's! I don't know if the link will work, but if you go to the girl scouts page online there is a "find cookies" search where you put in your zip code and they tell you where and when they are set up to sell in your area. link

1. 28 weeks, 2 days
2. Ankle swelling (not painful) after driving home from main office this afternoon and evening. Otherwise, just feeling lots of rolling around and movement.
3. I've never actually eaten girl scout cookies. But I buy a box from each of my nieces in CA and have them pick their faves and enjoy them. DH likes samoas and thin mints.
My main office threw me a surprise baby shower while I was up there today. I was not expecting this at all, and am very touched by the kindness and generosity they showed me. Received a bunch of adorable little outfits, plus diapers, toys, handmade blankies, and related items. Dh won't believe his eyes when he gets home. Kitties are already inspecting the bags with an air of "some of this is for us, right?"
The ladies of the office did start a baby pool of date & time of delivery, and will probably add weight and length. They also did a version of the "measure the tummy game." Instead of guessing how many inches around I am, though, they had a large ball of yarn, and cut the lengths they thought would fit around my belly at the navel. After they made their selections, I had the ball to measure myself, and they measured their selections against my piece. My main boss came the closest, and won a snickers bar. If they'd wanted to get out an actual measuring tape, I'd have been mortified, but it was funny this way, as they were eyeing me seated and walking over for more punch, and I was wearing a loose, lightweight maternity dress that threw most of them off.

Congrats mrsELF6713I forgot about Tagalongs. I loved those, too, but with H's allergies I don't get them anymore. I have seen girl scouts in the parking lot across the alley from me and at the grocery store. H bought me some from the girls selling them at the grocery store over the weekend. <3

Yes, that is what the doctor gave me a script for. I am taking 2 doses a day. I have only taken one dose so far. That's good; I didn't know if it was safe for pregnant women. H got the flu a couple years ago, and neither of us had gotten flu shots. His doctor put us both on Tamiflu. H was feeling better within a few days, and I miraculously never got it, even though I was definitely exposed before/when he first started showing symptoms. I am already feeling better and this is only day 2 on the Tamiflu and the inhaler. H is going to Rite Aid to pick up the rest of my doses after work today. They could ony give him 2 days worth of the medicine due to how much they are going through.

I am still a bit weak from my flu, so I hope she can hold off until sometime tomorrow after my nst. By then I hope to gain some strength.

feel better snippet17 ! @swimmy1988 , I think I would have been more uncomfortable with that particular game if I was further into the 3rd trimester, and if I wasn't internally laughing so hard at the sight of a bunch of dignified lady lawyers setting aside their normal reserve and letting loose with their bets. Although, our most recently retired attorney attended, and she did put her foot in her mouth. When they started the baby pool, I was asked how far along I was, what was my due date, and whether there were any familial patterns for early/late/on time arrivals. This retired attorney piped up asking if we knew the time of conception, for all to hear. I managed to laugh it off stating that it was on the first Saturday of football season, with margaritas, and suffice to say, there was a certain amount of "frequency" that made giving her such a time impossible. Boss lady, bless her, looked ready to choke before I responded, then relieved that I didn't give the retired attorney what for.

I wish. I am still a bit weak from my flu, so I hope she can hold off until sometime tomorrow after my nst. By then I hope to gain some strength. Make sure you keep your fluids up - drink Pedialyte or Gatorade if you have to. I have been drinking Pedialyte or well the Rite Aid one starting yesterday morning. About 1.5 of them a day. It has been a God send. I think with my calorie intake has been so low. I think of Sunday I was lucky to take in 1000 calories and a lot of it was from liquids (juice, I didn't drink any soda) And thanks everyone. Plus I want her to wait a little because I worry I would want to wear one of those face masks in l&d again and wouldn't get to hold her until after I take all 5 doses of Tamiflu. I think everyone at H's work is going to be disappointed. Unless they seem something bad/concerning on my nst test tomorrow I do not see myself going into labor before March 10, which is the latest anyone in H's works baby pool picked. I wonder who gets the candy bar if no one wins.
