As an aside, because I didn't know that this was a topic for a whole new thread, I don't know what we'll call a little girl. The only thing I am CERTAIN about with my child is that they are going to have SO MANY CUTE LITTLE HATS. SO MANY. Have you seen that Pinterest board about the person's imaginary well dressed daughter named Quinoa? I'm now going to envision your future daughter just like that.

You guys are making me want to have babies right now! My favorite names are Lucy and Taryne. I wanted my first daughter to be named Lucy Laurain (family name) but someone told me it sounded like a porn star name lol.

It's hard to write things phonetically. haha Tare-in is the way that I would pronounce it.

Tare-in is the way that I would pronounce it. I don't think I've really heard that name before. Well, not spelled that way. My ex got a girl pregnant while on vacation in Asia or something and had a boy named Tarin. Cute baby. Random story. I have only heard it once before. The girl was a pitcher for a college softball team, and I sort of developed a girl crush on her and fell in love with her name. My H (bf at the time) loved her name too so it was a win win!

I thought of this thread the other day when H and I were driving to go furniture shopping and passed a city called Cordelia. He really liked it for a girl's name but all I could think of was Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Maybe he liked it because is grandma's name is Elia and his sister's name is Roselia so it ties in with theirs?

I also like the name Morgan for a girl. I know girl and boy Morgans, Madisons, Colbys, Caseys, Devins, Michaels, and Shauns. I like unisex names - I have one, and sometimes it sucks to be called Sir in an email, but it's nice to see the look of surprise when a girl turns up. Jordan and Sidney/Sydney are other ones. I've had 2 Jordans, a girl and a boy, in my class at the same time.

My friend named her baby Analiese. I love it! I do like Harper a lot, too even though celebs have made it popular recently. Charlotte was a favorite of mine as well. I really like a good, strong female name for a girl. We are going to be child-free but talking names is fun.

I have a friend named Analisa and love the name, but she pointed out that it's "anal is a" and said a lot of people make comments. I'm kind of worried about accidentally setting our kids up to be picked on, so it's out. Still beautiful, though. I also love the name Dayanara, but FI immediately said, "Kids will call her Diarrhea forever."

Hah I have a very common name. A lot of people my age group have the same name as it was the 5th popular name in 1988, so every time I hear someone say Jen or Jennifer, I turn around even if they're not addressing me. Gets annoying sometimes. Try living in agricultural California with a very high percentage of Hispanics, and have a variation of the name "Elena". I think people are talking to me ALL. THE. TIME.

I've also always liked Nora. Monroe came up in conversation (because I'm obsessed with Marilyn, but don't love that for a baby). H said she'd be made fun of and vetoed. Did anyone ever notice how the older you get, the harder it is to pick names because every name reminds you of someone you don't like? Or is that just me?ME TOO! I was a cheer coach for 8 years so pretty much there are about 100 + girl names that would instantly say NO too.

I loved the name Audrey before it became popular! Still not letting it go just yet because if I keep with a family tradition I will use my first name as my daughters middle name and Audrey Erin always sounded nice to me. So maybe in the future it will not be so popular I have also liked the idea of Gracelyn lately. I really liked Gabriella or Aubriella as well but those have gotten popular it seems too. I had 3 Olivia's when I coached + a crap load of Emma/Emily's, Michaela's, Hannah's and Savannah's. Also a variety of Katie/Kaitlin's too. So those would all be on my personal veto list for sure. My niece is Natalia Friends/Cousins of mine have Olivia, MiKayla, Maya, Aleah, Stella, Delaney, Annabelle, Charlotte, Abbie, Gwen, and Madison.

I don't think I've came across that one yet. Yeah, I can imagine that it might be a pain in the ass sometimes with a unisex name. I thought having a name that everyone misspelled was bad but I think that's even worse. My SIL is a Mikel. My husband is Michael (his brother is who married a Mikel, lol)

Currently FI and I like Madeline, Monica, Molly, Bridgette, Julia and Felicity. This will probably change though as we aren't having kids for several years, and I'm sure we will meet some crazy people with these names that will ruin them for us, lol!
