So DH and I find out the gender of our baby in about 2.5 weeks. We already have a boy name picked out, but have failed at agreeing on a girl name. So, on the 50/50 chance that baby kwith is a girl, suggest your favorite girl names. Either the names of your own girls, or ones you think are pretty. Also, ones that should be avoided. Go!

I've also always liked Nora. Monroe came up in conversation (because I'm obsessed with Marilyn, but don't love that for a baby). H said she'd be made fun of and vetoed. Did anyone ever notice how the older you get, the harder it is to pick names because every name reminds you of someone you don't like? Or is that just me? This x10. I was very in to Eva for a while, which is my grandma's name, and when I mentioned it to H he immediately rejected it because he knew and disliked an Eva. I feel like so many names are like that. We've talked about Allison, Ella, Charlotte, Alana, Annabelle, Alyssa...we seem to like the Al combo :-).

I love both Charlotte and Norah. Our top girl name is Adelyn May. I also love Delaney and Langley.

jp14, I was just browsing girl names at one of those baby sites, and Adelyn was one that jumped out at me. I hope no one on here feels bad if I end up liking / stealing one of your baby names.

For us choosing a name was very difficult because we wanted something nobody in our close circle of friends/family had. My daughter's name is Jacquelyn.
We liked: Bella Julianna Isabella Elizabeth Madeline H like Michelle but I don't like my name

I'm also not TTC, but I love thinking about baby names, so I hope I'm welcome also. For whatever reason, boy names come much easier to me while brainstorming. But the girl name I am absolutely set on is Audrey Grace. It's my mom's and my FMIL's middle names. I would love to keep a family name as the middle name for each of our kids, but I'm not fond of any of the other girl names in the family.
Other names I'm mulling around right now are versions of Gwen: Gwen, Gwendolyn, Gwyneth. I'm also a big historical fiction lover, which makes me love the name Katherine. I also really like Fiona.

My name is Alyssa! If we had had a girl, some of the names I liked are: Thea Tessa Rachel Anna Cara My husband likes Madison, but I'm hoping if we ever have a girl, we don't use that. I like Madeleine (that spelling). I also want to tie in family names. My husband's grandma was Leona, the name Lena is similar and I like that. My grandma was Marion.

I love Charlotte. I didn't realize how popular Amelia is! That's my top pick for our yet-to-be conceived child, but I pitched it with Rose as a middle name, and FI prefers the name Rose. I also love the name Claire. Charlotte is becoming popular too. Amelia is pretty, as is Claire.

I love it too (: adelyn was my favorite, but FI wasn't sold. He said we could use it if he got to pick the middle name, and he came up with may. I love the way it sounds though. When I told his mom she said any baby with that name would be a proper southern belle lol

My roommate's name was Charlotte and she was seriously a giant whore. That was sort of really the only way to describe her. I always loved the name (well, loved Charlie as a nickname really) but it went off our list early I'm with lmc on Claire - that's our top choice. Hahaha, @lobsters25, I heart you. I like the name Charlotte but also grew up in the age of Sex and the City and can't quite reconcile liking the name with hating the characters on that show. I'm going to make a master list of names from this thread to run by H. Though I'll maybe wait until we find out the sex.

@jennylee, the one Ellery I knew was an ultraconservative asshat in college who I mostly remember for a letter to the editor she wrote about how birth control was like bulimia, because with bulimia you got to enjoy all the perks of food without the consequences, and the same was true of birth control and sex. And apparently both were mental disorders. I just couldn't with her.
But I think she spelled her name Eleri, so you're probably totes fine to use it with a different spelling.
