Plus, J is equal parts excited and terrified of having a girl, so it's fun to mess with him. Tip the scale to terrifying - add in teenage hormones. DD cried THREE TIMES between after school and after supper last night. Want to know why? ME TOO! Because she honestly has no idea why, and she was the one doing it... This was me as a teenager. I was a rule following straight A overachiever but MAN the hormones made me a miserable person sometimes. The below actually occurred when I was about 13, both of us remember it although not the trigger which I'm sure was something ridiculously unimportant. Mom: (something, irrelevant) Me: (sobbing) Mom: Why are you crying? Me: (still sobbing and getting a word out each breath) I. DON'T. KNOW. (blows nose and enters UNCONTROLLABLE sobbing) gingerlady I love the gingerbread man nickname! Although it makes me think of "NOT THE GUMDROP BUTTONS" so clearly he'll need a Shrek onesie. I'm on it. engr0308 I love that you have calipers in your desk.

annathy03 I wish I could take credit for the gingerbread man nickname but it was all these lovely TH ladies! When I learned I was having a boy from cell free fetal DNA testing someone (I forgot who now) coined it and it stuck. ETA: I need this.

I never did the math, but I know my Mom and Dad found out she was pregnant on St. Patrick's Day- they'd submitted the blood work to the hospital lab where Dad worked (and where they met) a few days prior, and when it came back as definitely pregnant, Dad called Mom. Apparently she'd just finished carrying groceries into their condo, and he gently scolded her that "a woman in her condition shouldn't be carrying stuff!" Chipmunchkin was scaring me a bit this morning. I normally feel her moving around 5:45-6:15, aka, around the time I'm waking up and getting up, with periodic flutters while I get ready for work. She also tends to move when DH comes to bed. Last night, she didn't budge, and this morning she didn't move until nearly 7:30. Overreaction from me to be scared, I know, but first timer, and last night all I could think about was how I was delivered with a short cord wrapped tight around my neck, and I'm terrified of that happening with her.

I'm totally in the same boat chipmunk - totally overanalyzing the coming and going of baby kicks. I think we're both in that early stage where inconsistency is the norm, if that makes you feel better. But I'm with you. I haven't felt anything yet this morning and it has me worried. It doesn't help that I just read a devastating status update on FB about a dead baby (the niece of an acquaintance). I was weeping over my morning coffee.

Thanks, gingerlady and @jennylee. She did start fluttering a bit on my way to work and I was talking to her. Now that I'm at the office, had some ice water (and a piece of dark chocolate) she's kicking around again. I think she was just sleepy, and comfortable, and did not feel like answering her mother

Holy shit I was an idiot and stayed up too late last night. I am paying for it. Absolute exhaustion. I actually got up when my alarm went off, turned on the shower, went to pee, came back out, turned OFF the shower, and got back into bed for 25 minutes.
I'm trying to stay hydrated but I am also on a phone depo today. So I can't get up to pee every 10 minutes. Look how hard my life is, guys.

Look at it this way LMC - you're halfway through the first tri already! Every exhausted day is one day closer to that glorious second trimester where pregnancy can actually be fun. And of course, one day closer to that sweet bebe. It won't last forever and in hindsight it really does pass quickly. This is true. First trimester feels like AGES ago. I barely remember it.

So far so good, but I know it's still early!
It's already going by fast. But in a strange way. It feels like yesterday but also 100 years ago that I got my BFP.

As soon as my baby starts a pattern for a few days in a row, she changes it on me. It can be a total mind fuck. Through every time I have a panic attack I can feel her, so My wrist is bothering me more now. The wrap was working, but I spent most of my night awake. I am going to bring it up to my doctor tomorrow. Not like they can do anything about it, but it is caused by bloating I know they want to know.

And at one point it changes. I feel like it was yesterday that I got a BFP! I love these mindfucks.

My BFP is a distant, surreal memory. It was 5am and I was half-asleep. I didn't even believe it at the time. I remember telling DH "I may be pregnant", but those lines never lie...

Hey expecting ladies, I hope it's ok if I hang out around here for a while. I am childfree by choice, but my best friend just found out she's pregnant (about 6 weeks), so I was hoping to glean some insights on what she's experiencing and anything that might pop up along the line. Is that ok? LMC , taco chip is totally a girl, and beautiful! Of course it is fine to post over here! And congrats to your friend!

Dear tiny cans of Coke:
Thank you for being the only thing that prevents me from feeling like I'm going to hurl all day.
Regards, LMC and TC
Seriously. It's like I've just got a ton of shit stuck in me. I've got a tiny 7.5oz can of Coke. I take three sips and burp like 10 times and then I feel better. WTF? I never even drink the whole can.

This is probably not far from the truth. Sorry. Daaaaammit my figurative "shit" might be literal "shit." This is uncomfortable. I thought I was going to avoid this issue because I had been doing so well with it.

Then again, when you do manage to get relief, it feels soooo gooooood.

I thought I was going to avoid this issue because I had been doing so well with it. I take Polyethlene Glycol and two Dulcolax (or something like that its a script) daily. I highly suggest talking to your doctor and seeing if they will send a script to your pharmacy for something to help you out.

Did anyone take probiotics while pregnant? I started taking a pill every day awhile back, after having some really bad GI issues after being on antibiotics. I stopped Sunday because the box says " talk to your doctor if you're pregnant". But with a quick google search I can't really find a good reason not to continue taking them, and a lot of the hits actually list a bunch of benefits for pregnant women. I feel like my digestive system is already out of whack, and it could use all the help it could get...I don't really want to stop taking them for 3 weeks before I can ask my doctor at the first appointment. Every pill I am currently taking says that. I would let your doctor know at your first appointment. I know mine likes to have a list of everything I take or possibly will be taking (such as claritin for my allergies). I can, also, add any pills I am taking via my hospital network's website so I would put that in there if it is possible for you to do that.
