Lochlyn? Like the loch Ness monster? Yup. Poor little guy. I wonder if the baby was a girl if they would have named her Nessie...

Is that (Latch-lan)? Pronouncing? Lock-lan. That's the pronunciation that they use. I think that it's Scottish.

WTF. Martecka was the first baby born here. Her mom is named Montecka. The baby has two sisters and a brother. I kind of want to know their names.
Baby number 2 is named Veronica Rae.

IT'S EVERYWHERE. Just saw on Facebook some friend of a friend introducing baby Rayne to the family... Rayne is a puppy, but still. Well I think Rayne is a cute name for a puppy. They could have spelled it correctly but what can you do?

The first baby born in my area was named Quamane after his daddy. Another hospital had a Jackson born. No baby born at the hospital I delivered at.

The first kid in Beaver County was Emily. SO MUCH BETTER.
I'm an adolescent because I laughed at Beaver County.

I don't think I've mentioned it in this thread, but a friend of the family gave her daughter a really terrible spelling of a pretty common name. The spelling is so terrible and unique, I'm not going to post the actual name. The parents took an ordinary name, like Lee, and spelled it with 2 L's because they always wanted to raise llamas. Sometimes I want to ask the daughter (who is an adult now) if she hates her name.

How awesome! She said the same names were the first for her city. I'm going to mail you guys more cats. One is not enough. Oh I'm so out of it, did she post here earlier? I need to learn to read everything before commenting. SORRY snippet17 and everyone else for being the worst. I can't keep up anymore! Don't worry about it. It is hard to keep up on some of these threads. Specially if you don't know where you left off.

I always laugh when driving North on I75 in Michigan. Exit 69 is Big Beaver Road. What 12 year old boy came up with that?!?

My mother has a normal name, but she got it for an odd reason. My grandmother named her after her favorite soap opera character. I went to middle school with a girl who was named after a contestant on a game show. I've never encountered that name anywhere else, come to think of it.

I found it. Rolland. They said it was for a Stephen king novel. The Gunslinger? Seriously... They named their kid after the Gunslinger?!

The Gunslinger? Seriously... They named their kid after the Gunslinger?! A former colleague of mine named his son Winston after the pot farmer in Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. The first 2015 baby in Michigan was named Sarah! Wow...that is bad. Lol

I kind of wish my dad would have vetoed my name and my sisters... Oh well. According to my mom he loved our names so I guess that wouldn't have happened.

My dad wanted to name me Larina (Larrina? Not sure on the spelling) after Larry Bird. My mom wins major points for vetoing that. Wow, that's a terrible name. Assuming Larry is short for Lawrence, I'd go with Laura or Lauren as the female version, personally.

Some sources are reporting that Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds had a girl, Violet. The source for this was a nurse at the hospital. I hope she gets fired. Liking because I agree. That is bullshit that the nurse told anyone the name of the baby. The couple should have privacy no matter if they are famous or not.
